You must freeze your herbs in this canister in order to use the mill. Plastic can still become clogged with food. I was expecting to store fresh herbs in my refrigerator and then use the mill to cut them, but as I said you have to freeze them in order for this machine to work according to the instructions. This item is way over priced. Your herbs will no longer be fresh, and container is small, so doesn't work well for storage. Stick to a sharp knife and cutting board and give this item a pass.
