Living in New York City, I really needed a sturdy laundry bag to haul heavy loads for blocks, in all kinds of weather. The shoulder straps make the job easy and comfortable. Also, the zipper is well made, People have stopped me on the street asking where they could get one. I would say that this is a New York staple!

This is a nice heavy duty laundry bag. I wanted something that wasn't going to fall apart in 6 months and this bag is going to last for years. The fabric is thick and the straps to carry it are also very heavy duty. Its nice that it has a few compartments on the outside to care laundry detergent and softener. It comes with 4 rods that go on the inside to hold the shape and these fit into enclosed compartments that run down the inside. What nice about them is that the material used to make the compartments is also heavy dudy so you'll never have to worry about the rods stucking throught the material. If your looking for something thats going to last a long time this is the hamper for you. I absolutely love it!

This thing holds lots of clothes and the pockets are great for putting detergent and softener into. Other than the cheap zipper, I can't say anything bad about it.

The side supports were strong enough to hold this roomy bag open while I stuffed it full of sheets,comforter, memory foam and towels my son will be taking to college. The bag and handles are very sturdy and will probably last all four years of college. We ordered black because I was sure he would stain it before he would destroy it.

It performs exactly as advertised. any one having problems with it standing up might want to reread the assembly instructions. mine stands up and is solid and durable.

This is quite sturdy, as the product description says. It is made of very heavy duty - and heavy! - polyester canvas. There are four support poles that must be jammed into four very tight slots in order to keep it upright - it took me at least 20 minutes to get them inserted all the way so I could fold down the velcro closures. Now that it's assembled, it looks like it will last a long time. I will probably only use it as a stationary hamper, as it's so heavy on its own I'd have trouble hauling it around full of clothes. I'm only giving it three stars because of the difficulty of setting it up (the poles are not even mentioned in the product description and getting them into their slots was a major struggle) and the inaccurate depiction of the color. Even more disappointing because it's the first Overstock product I've purchased that didn't meet my expectations.

• How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Not even close - very dark, dull eggplant rather than the bright violet purple pictured. Disappointing - I would have chosen another color had I known.
• Please tell us about the quality of the product. Fabric is sturdy and should hold up. One pole was broken on arrival, though I was able to keep it together enough to insert it. The poles are very hard to insert, especially far enough that the velcro tabs at the top can be sealed.

I purchased one bag to see if the quality was good. Happily it is very sturdy and is a very useful product. I have bought another on in the green color and plan on buying more. I really love the look and versatility. I high recommend for laundry use and other storage.

Perfect laundry bag for me. The fact that it stands up like a hamper is a bonus. I have to carry my laundry down two flights of stairs and this bag makes it easy. Very well made- should last for years.

This bag is amazing, I bought it for my 8 year old sons room since his clothing is getting bigger we needed another hamper.The material is sturdy and the capacity is huge! I bought this as opposed to a regular hamper cause my fiance was recently hurt on the job and can not lift anything heavy which includes the laundy bags. We live on the 2nd floor in a house and have to take our laundry out to be done..This bag made it so simple for me to carry this an another shoulder laundry bag on my own and leave a hand free to hold my sons while crossing the street. It will get heavy once filled completely but the two shoulder straps distribute the weight so evenly on my back it made and almost impossible task easy. I already recommended this to others and intend to buy another one. LOVE This product seriously if you live in an apartment or have to go out to do your laundry this is perfect especially for single or do it yourself moms/parents.

The words 'heavy duty' might make people think it is only for disaster messes i.e. motor oil, paint, etc. Its not! This bag is strong to hold a lot of clothes, AND be transported in a car without anything falling out of it. The shoulder straps are fine; We can use one strap at a time, or both. It's so great! I Minimize the number of bags of stuff I need to do laundry with this one Duffel bag. Point: the bag is big. I can carry it because I am relatively physically fit.

I should have found this bag a year ago when i moved into my third floor apartment! Our laundry is down on the first floor and trudging up and down those exposed stairwells with the cumbersome baskets was not fun. I found this bag to be relatively positive for review. The only thing I would change would be to suggest a bit more extra support along the bottom edge of the bag from wear and tear. I will be running a bit of duck tape along the edge to cover where the support poles are wearing through. Not a big issue though. I have read some complaints about the bag not standing well enough for use as a hamper. I have found that is you just turn down the top lip while using this way it stays open reasonably well. Over all I think this was a must have purchase and has made laundry time easier on my. I would recommend to anyone.

i purchased multiples of this bag to for my kids to use during visits and sleepovers. everything is shoved into the bag which reduces the number of lost/left behind toys/clothes. at home its a personal hamper for their bedroom/clothes. now they can drag their clothes to the laundry room and back to their bedrooms themselves. the bags are so well made that i'm betting they'll be lugged off to college with them.

I like this laundry bag so far. I've had it a few weeks now and it seems to be holding up very well. There were no holes cut for the velcro straps to cover the ends of the vertical rods located on the inside of the bag. The hole was cut behind it. That's not really a big deal to me, the bag still works great and it hasn't been a major issue. The bag also will not stand up on it's own if it is empty. There must be some clothes in it for it to retain it's shape. It will hold a lot of clothes, all depending on your load sizes. I like that the top also zips shut. There are also shoulder straps but they're too close together in my opinion so I just carry with both straps over one shoulder, just like carrying a golf bag. When this bag is completely full, it weighs as much as a small-medium golf bag could weigh. The velcro straps not being functional as they should, the bag not being up to stand up on it's own were why I didn't rate it excellent. Still a great product and it's working very well for me.
