Unfortunately it hasn't been that hot and humid since I purchase, but so far my few experiences have been positive.

The only thing wrong with this unit is the built in dehumidifier has a water resivour that is VERY small. The resivour will fill up in anywhere from 3 hours to 24 hours, depending on your relative humidity and AC settings. Once the resivour is full, the unit will stay on, but not fuction. It emits a lovely beeping noise unit you unplug it and take it outside to drain (50 lb. a/c Ide guess). If you dont enjoy a sound nights sleep or a constant regimine of taking your AC to the shower/deck to drain, I'de look elsewhere for an AC. The oscilation feature also decided to stop working about 2 weeks into instalation. The window vent is pretty flimsy. The remote control works well.

An excellent product, no regrets!!!! It is working perfectly well and definately meets my expectations. I would definately recommend this product to anyone considering buying an air conditioner.

I own a small one bedroom house and this AC unit is exactly what I needed. It keeps everything cool. no more fans!!! This product was well worth the money that I spent. And my utility bill wound up be lower which is always a bonus. I did a lot of shopping around and a lot of research before deciding to go to Overstock to purchase this portable AC unit, and glad that I did.

While thermostatically controlled with a visible temperature and range setting, it shuts down completely when it reaches the desired temp rather than continuing to run the fan without the heater. This is a feature I do not like. It is fairly quiet and does heat the bathroom very nicely on these cold mornings.

I got this quickly after ordering it online. I read great things about the AC unit and I went ahead and bought it. This thing is easy to set up and looks nice, sturdy, and at the price is very reasonable. However, it does not fulfill its purpose of keeping me or my room cool. I have this thing pointed right at me from 2 feet away and all it's doing is fanning me. Literally no cool air comes out. It was a marginally more effective when I first bought it but not really fantastic in the first place. It's been about 4 weeks now and I can not feel any "cool" air at all.

I purchased this portable AC unit, my first, to cool my bedroom only. The main unit on the roof is not cooling as well as it used to. It is advertised as quiet running, afraid not! The fan is nosier than I thought it would be but my dog and I are getting used to it. Also the difference in speed from hi to low fan is practically zero. It is also advertised as self evaporating and not requiring a bucket to empty. It does not have a removable bucket but does have a drain plug in the back for when it does get full on hi humidity days. If it fills the compressor will shut down and a code P2 will appear on the screen. So far even though we are in our so called monsoon here in Phoenix there has not been much water collecting to empty. The water that does is used to help cool the compressor. When the compressor kicks on and off there is a good size thump sound that sometimes startles my dog. The unit fan puts out a lot of air and is the main source of noise. The louvers to direct the air are adjustable up and down. It also has four castor wheels for easy moving around though I do not plan on doing that. Be aware that the exhaust hose has a plastic adapter on both ends to connect to the window panel and the unit exhaust port. This hose is 6 inches in diameter and is expandable like an accordion to over 50 inches. The window adapter worked fine on my horizontal sliding window except for the top 9 inches that required a piece of cardboard. It does not do as good a job of removing humidity as the main AC but when I open the bedroom door to the hallway it feels better. So for the refurbished price,$240, plus a 2 year extended warranty,$22,I think I got a good deal.

I PURCHASED THIS FAN FROM A MAJOR ELECTRONICS RETAILER IN NYC. THE FAN PERFORMS MOST FUNCTIONS AS DESCRIBED. THE REMOTE WORKS FINE, ETC. HOWEVER, AFTER A FEW DAYS OF USE THE FAN BEGAN TO MAKE A VERY ANNOYING RATTLING/VIBRATING NOISE DURING OSCILLATION, ESPECIALLY IN THE HIGH SETTINGS. AFTER MOVING THE FAN AROUND, OILING IT, ETC. THE IRRITATING NOISE CONTINUED. THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM IN THE LOWEST SPEED SETTING OR WHEN THE OSCILLATING FUNCTION IS TURNED OFF, JUST WHEN IT OSCILLATES IN THE TOP 4 SETTINGS. THE UNPLEASANT NOISE INTERFERES WITH YOUR TV VIEWING, ETC. FAN MANUFACTURERS HAVE TO RESOLVE THIS VIBRATING, RATTLING NOISE ISSUE IN THEIR FANS.

Bought this unit about 1 month ago and so far so good! I was a bit skeptical buying a refurbished AC unit but the price was very reasonable and it works great. I am using it in my bonus room above the garage as supplement AC. The room itself is 500 sq. ft. and this unit says it will cool up to around half that, but it is cooling the entire room remarkably well. Only takes a few minutes to feel the temperature start to drop in the room. It is a bit on the noisy side but that is to be expected. It was not too difficult to install, just follow the instructions and it shouldn't take more than 20-30 minutes. It is nice to have an extra set of hands helping out if possible. The unit has some cool features: Temperature gauge, Cooling & Fan modes, Timer set, and digital read-out. If you are able to place a small chair or other piece of furniture in front of the unit (to hide the tubing running from the unit to the window) then you almost never even know it is there. Much easier to look at then a window unit. I recommend this unit along with the 2 or 4 year warranty. I bought the 4 yr warranty and have piece of mind in case it does break.

This heater if used properly, ie under the required square foot ratio and heat setting, it works great. I have already had it tested for durability because my home had a huge electrical issue and it passed with flying colors. It kept our 200 sq ft room nice and warm on the high setting and bearable on low (when our wiring decide to blow the breaker box). It wont sweat you out of a room and has a hard time warming up a really cold room but it is does a good job with a decently warm room and will maintain the temperature for hours without getting anywhere overheating its self. I also have a young child and she had put her hands on it a million times without getting burnt not once which is what I was looking for when I bought this heater (also an auto shut off/ tip over feature, since my daughter has a hard time not getting caught in cords and breaking numerous plugged in appliances/Electronics.).

This is my third Ceramic heater from Lasko. They work! Do not use a lot of electric. Very quiet. Today, I woke up at six A.M. and the outside temperature was 8 degree, not including the wind chill. My family room where the heater was on all night was 72° and nice and toasty warm. I purchased two of those LifeSaver heaters last year and my electric usage was never higher in the seventeen years in our home.
