kristine8 Rating:5.0We purchased a Lasko tower fan in the summer and were very pleased with the performance and value. This made the choice to pursue Lasko for a tower heater more obvious. We use the heater for our 4 month old daughter's room. We keep our house thermostat at 68 degrees but wanted her room to be a little warmer. So far the heater has worked very well. The room is small (10x11), but the heater warms the room quickly. I love the thermostat option on the heater as well as the timer. We've only had the heater for a couple weeks, but we've had no issues with it. It is smaller than what you'd imagine form the picture (much smaller than our tower fan), but it can easily sit on the floor or on a table top. We would have no problem recommending this product.

Ericson M. Rating:5.0My first one died after 2 weeks, but I'll assume it was a defect. It blew the fuse and couldn't be turned OFF after that incident. Reversing blew it again. Got an exchange and it has been working since last year. It keeps the area cool where you'd need the AC...to a certain extent of course. I wouldn't rely on this for 90 degrees. But it works like a charm and is good at cooling house at summer nights. Remote makes it easy to switch speeds and modes. Temperature reading is neat, but it's a little misleading as it's just the area in front of fan. It takes a while to equalize to far side so you're better off using an IR thermometer if you want to know the temp somewhere instead of just at the fan. Low setting is quiet, then it goes to real loud on high. You can set a temp for the fan to turn itself off, but for me at least, this just makes the fan keep cycling in short periods when it reaches the target. As per above, the temp reading is directly in front of fan and will rise shortly after it shuts off. But that's my house so maybe yours is different. Intake works best for me. Perhaps it's cuz outtake draws air from the hot roof through the vents in my case negating some cooling effect? Maybe having 2 fans on either side of house might work better if I really wanted to "go with the wind forecast" or something to maximize the effect. Overall, it works great despite some shortcomings which could be situational. Works a lot better than a box fan. And if your windows is too big, you don't need to order extra vanes. imo, it will just make it unwieldy when you move it around. I've used it on wide windows by making a cardboard box to fill the gap.

gliz Rating:5.0My home is small and I hate adding items that don't add to the cuteness of my carefully decorated dwelling. We don't need AC in my part of San Francisco ever; a fan is all that's necessary to cool off the home. This model has a very small footprint so it doesn't get in the way, is very adjustable in its volume of air moved/oscilation, is quiet and cools off my home pretty quickly. Very happy!

kissmykitty Rating:5.0NewAir's AH-450B is a snazzy little lightweight space heater that you'll want around for chilly bedrooms and home offices, and even if you simply would like to add some cozy warmth to a larger room (such as a living room; or in our case the open floor plan that means having two large rooms connected together with no walls in between). The AH-450B is electric, but it generates heat by heating up oil that is sealed inside seven "fins" - this design ensures super-quiet operation as well as efficient heat that doesn't take long to disperse into the room the space heater is placed in (tip: place it directly beneath a clockwise-rotating ceiling fan to help with dispersing and spreading the heat around). You can choose from five temperatures (65-85 in five degree increments) and three heat settings (eco for the least damage to your electric bill, low, or high), as well as a timer (2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 hours) if you like the idea of going to sleep in a warm room but don't want to leave a space heater on and unattended. And for the sake of convenience, be sure to use the included wireless remote to adjust settings or switch the space heater on or off from the comfortable warmth of wherever you happen to be - sofa, recliner, bed, etc. Finally, and most importantly, NewAir addresses all safety concerns: the AH-450B keeps the oil sealed inside its frame, the space heater will automatically switch off if it is tipped over, it has overheat protection built in, and I've never found it to be overly hot to the touch (so you don't have to worry about accidental burns). And its lightweight design (17.6 lbs total) + four caster wheels make it easy to move from one room to another - just wheel it along! Summary: NewAir's AH-450B Electric Oil-Filled Space Heater is great for bedrooms (and I can attest that it will make a bedroom with absolutely no heat comfortably warm within an hour's time!) as well as larger rooms (as a supplemental heating source), and it has all the bells and whistles of more expensive models, but without the harsh price tag. (Disclosure: I received a free product in exchange for my honest opinion.)

Matt N. Rating:5.0Works well if trying to beat the heat w/o AC; could practically double as an industrial fan for dust or fumes. The trade off is it's NOT quiet. Not as much of an issue if set off in the corner of the larger rooms it's meant to vent.

pattylyn46 Rating:4.0I am very pleased with this heater. It is a good deal for the price. I have it in a 10x20 room and with the ceiling fan running, this heater does a good job

applesnkids Rating:5.0I currently own a very expensive tower heating/fan unit that rhymes with Tyson, and this little tower heater is actually better. It's quiet, can run the fan or heat (just like the expensive one), is easy to move, and is small and efficient. I plan on buying another one for each level of the home!

megan999 Rating:5.0Easy to assemble I like that there is a dock at the base of the fan for the remote. It has been cost effective. Our ac wall unit is crazy loud and caused our electricity bill to go up 4X last summer. Which is why I decided to buy a fan that can be closer to us in bed. It has a sleep setting that changes speeds which is an alternative to oscillating.
