I live in the North where its already getting cold. My house is heated with electricity and I do not need to put on the heat to warm up the whole house. I just put on this heater for few minutes and keep it on low. If it gets too cold it will come on automatically. Make sure its not close to your curtains or wall.

This thing really cools. I've had experiences with smaller units that really don't work so I pretty much bought the biggest portable one I could find and it does the job. I would say there are only two negatives one is that it is loud. This probably can't be helped because the loudness is from the very effective fan which is blowing massive amounts of air. The other problems is if you are pouring water into the unit instead of having a hose hookup it is a little clumsy or awkward and very easy to spill water as you're filling. But this got me through a very hot summer so I would recommend it.

Pros: -Small foot print. Because the fan motor and turbine are in the base of the unit it has a low center of gravity, allowing for a small base and small foot print, compared to fans that have the motor and blades high up in the tower and require a large base to accommodate the high center of gravity. -Speed variability. Dyson speed settings range from 1 to 10, which truly allows for customization of the air flow. The variability of speed is very handy when compared to the standard Lo, Med, Hi settings of a regular fan. -Remote control. Allows the user to power the fan on/off, turn the oscillation on/off and/or select the speed from 1-10. -No blades. No whirling blades to potentially injure small, exploring fingers. Cons: -Expensive

Works well with quick and even heat. will heat a complete room as opposed to a small area. Can not comment on savings on heating bill due to the short time we own this unit. It was puechased as a supplemental heat source for a room with three exposed walls. Cost is a bit higher then some others but I fell that The quality and componets in this unit warrent the price. Yes I would recomend this unit.

The fan works great, it looks really good in the corner of the room, we also love the remote. The fabreeze feature is a great idea to freshen a room.
