The Artist known as Hava was born in 1962, in Israel. He immigrated with his family to the United States in the late 1970s, bringing with him a lifetime of memories from his native Middle Eastern culture. He says, 'I use each day to bring my past to the lives of my children and all who appreciate my art.'
On taking up residency in New York City, he brought those memories of the people and landscape to life through his art. As a clarinet player in the jazz clubs of New York, he dreamed of the day his first-loved art form would be acclaimed enough to earn him the respect of his peers and his family. Working the spring and summer art shows of the area, his landscape and figurative art began to be noticed for its detail and beauty. A show at an East Village gallery brought his art before the collectors and critics of New York City. Moving west in the late 1990s, Hava broadened his work to cover all the aspects of his Middle Eastern culture. He settled in Sante Fe, New Mexico, with his wife and 2 young children.

hava canvas
The piece looks very nice. It doesn't have texture/not a glicee - you can see the canvas' surface, no brush strokes. It is much smaller than I anticipated, however. The measurements they give on the website are including an inch and a half border of white all the way around the image, so the frames I purchased to hang the canvas prints are too big, especially since I didnt want to have to matt them.

Hava Venice Canvas Art
I have three of the Hava Canvas Art pieces. Each has beautiful color. The Venice piece reminds one of the Old World masters. Matted and in a nice frame make this piece appear to be a really expensive piece of art.

Looks too much like photograph
This canvas print was not what I expected. The printing of the painting on canvas is too precise and it thus looks too much like a photograph instead of a painting.

Gorgeous!
While I am not sure how much it is going to cost me to get this framed, I really love it and it brings back fantastic memories of Venice! The quality is very good, the colors are rich and true to the picture, and it has a lot of detail and depth. Looks like I paid much, much more for it than I did!
