The Buffet is quite nice when assembled, but getting there is not an easy path. The instructions appear to be translated from Chinese by a computer, making it difficult to understand what is required. One problem area is hanging the doors, but the most challenging is placing the slide rails for the three bottom drawers. I still do not have mine on properly, after hours of trying different options. Note: the screws for assembly look similar but vary in length by small amounts. Be certain to use the proper screw in the correct location, as you may find that using a slightly larger screw in an improper location will cause the wood to bulge or split. My suggestion is to pay more for a fully assembled unit so as to avoid having to spend 10-20 hours putting this thing together, and not getting it right in the end.

This buffet came quicker than expected. After searching and searching for months for something that would work the my space, I ordered it to be used as a cabinet for our TV components with the TV mounted on the wall above. It is larger in scale than most pieces used as TV cabinets, but it is what I wanted. There is plenty of room for everything and the drawers below are good for controllers, and cases. My husband assembled it in a few hours, but I don't think I could have done it by myself. It was tedious but worth it when considering the same piece at a furniture store would have cost twice the price. The wood quality is beautiful and solid! I highly recommend this for at TV cabinet or a buffet.

Initially was nervous about ordering furniture online as I prefer to see and touch things before purchasing but the the review comments were generally so positive that I took the risk. Product arrived in a week from order. Setup was not as difficult as I feared based on other review comments. It took about 4 hours but was also drinking wine and watching a movie at the same time - without those could have probably be done more quickly. There is a scratch in the top piece, but It possible I might have done this as I assembled on a hardwood floor and didn't put a blanket down initially. I rubbed a little stain on the scratch and it is not very noticable. The only disappointment in assembly is that the screw holes for the door attachment were not drilled deep enough and I needed to correct.

I bought this buffet on 3/1/09, and it was delivered on 3/6/09! We assembled it that same night.There were two of us working on it, and were able to complete it in 2.5 hours. the directions were very simple to understand, and there were ample spare pieces. There were no broken pieces, and the 3 boxes arrived from Salt Lake City to Atlanta in tact.I love this buffet! It fits perfectly in my dining room. My table and chairs have a slightly more redish hue, but the piece still fits in vvery well!The center door is not even as the others are, so I may tweak it some more, but I don't fault the manufacturer, but perhaps my haste to finish the install.All in all, This was a great buy. I didn't realize how deep the shelves were, you can fit two plates in it.

Great serving side board for my dining room that lives up to all my expectations and fits my needs.

The product was a little difficult to assemble. I would have preferred that it arrived assembled as other products. The doors and drawers are a little off and do not open very easily. But the item is made of strong material and large enough to hold many things.

My fiance and I are no strangers to flat-pack furniture, and we even *like* putting it together. The assembly of this piece, however, was extremely unpleasant and took us around 5 hours. The instructions were unclear, with very small drawings, and the holes were not always well machined. There was a lot of brute force required. While the finished product looks very nice, it was a bear to put together. I won't recommend it based on the obnoxiousness of assembly.

The buffet is bigger than I had expected and it looks good after assembly but the biggest catch (and the reason for 4 stars) is the assembly. I was frustrated to the point of throwing it out at one point when the ide panels would not line up no matter what we did. Some assembly tips - 1) Spare at least 5-6 hours 2) Please use an electric screw-driver. God save you if you tried to manually screw it. 3) The instructions for the drawer rails are not clear. Ensure you have placed it correctly. 4) Have a friend or your spouse help you. The cabinet has a lot of heavy parts and it will be very difficult to line up things single-handedly. 5) Most important....BE PATIENT!! :)

This is a lovely buffet. My husband put it all together in about 4-5 hours. Not hard, he just followed the directions and it came together. The wood looks like solid hard wood, that has been carefully stained to the dark espresso color. The drawers slide in and out nicely. We don't have anything in them yet, so I can't tell you how well they will last or slide with weight in them. Either way, this is a gorgeous piece, and I am so happy I bought it.

I received this product yesterday. I just contacted customer service to send another top piece. As several other reviewers have stated, the top splits while it is being assembled. I made sure not to overtighten the screws because I was aware this could happened. It did anyway. Overall, it seems like a nice piece that matches very close in color to the existing furniture in the room. As one other reviewer stated, the color scratches off very easily - like nail polish on a nail vs. stain embedded in wood. It has good weight to it, not flimsy at all, and a nice but not overbearing size. Some tips: 1) Read directions before putting together. 2) Organize your parts. 3) Use an ELECTRIC screwdriver! If you do this by hand, you are a glutton (sp) for punishment!!! Screws go in quick in pre-drilled holes which are smaller than the screw (for grip). If you do this by hand, you'll be sorry... 4) 4mm hex wrench is not included. You may have one around the house from other items you've ordered in the past. Luckily, I had several! :) 5) Make sure you screw the screws in the holes straight! This will prevent difficulty in lining up holes and pieces when putting together. 6) The directions are clear but the diagrams are small. Manufacturer should make pictures bigger. Make sure to study the pictures when putting on drawer slides for proper direction. Also for which holes screws and pegs are to go through. 7) I am a 50-yr old woman. I was able to get most of it together by myself. The buffet is heavy - I would not suggest lifting alone for your safety and for the safety of the wood not splitting anywhere else! 8) For the price, and I was able to find a coupon online to save $25, I still don't think for the amount of work and the quality of the wood and stain, that this is worth more than $400. I have put 4 1/2 hours into this just to get the main "body" together. I still have to put together the drawers and doors on the front. But I knew from other reviews this would be time consuming. 9) Get a furniture pen to touch up pieces when finished.

I bought this buffet to go in the dining room of my new house. I like dark wood. This buffet was a perfect match for what I was looking for. It fits all my mother's china and table linens perfectly while looking stylish and sleek. Putting it together was a bit tricky, however. I had the two sides on the wrong ends. Drawer rails were tough to figure out. Thank goodness directions come with pictures! I put this together by myself ...might have been easier with another person. In any case, the hours of work paid off in spades.

Outstanding design with elegant, simple lines. Its contemporary looks is what we were looking for. We may change its hardware to brushed nickel to stand out nicely. Company coul easily used some help from Ikea to improve its assembly design, greener packaging and instructions. Reviews were accurate stating the endless pieces, long time to assemble, missing steps in instructions and more than one person to assemble. After some painful hours, piece is sitting beautifully in living room.

Now that I have the buffet together, I am very happy with it. It's perfect for my room. During construction however, I had a huge urge to throw the pieces out in my front yard with a sign saying "you figure this out"! I have put other *** type bookcases and furniture together and so I am not a novice at this. The instructions were written in very small print and scrunched together and so it was easy to miss a step. Although I am very happy with the final product, I would think twice about buying from this company again (unless they improve their instructions) I wrote yes to the question whether I would recommend this to a friend - I would only recommend it however to friends with an enginerring type brain!

While I was putting this together, I was concerned it would be wobbly and look cheap. In the end however, the buffet looks like more expensive furniture I saw at Pottery Barn or Pier One.

We've been searching for a buffet table to fit in our dining room for a while, to replace our china cabinet. We wanted something more modern, less bulky, and functional with young kids around. Traditional furniture stores had none of what we wanted. The styles were either too traditional or the table did not have glass compartments and drawers. This table fulfills the functional needs and is very stylish. The installation did take some time, one person worked on it for over 5 hours. And you definitely need an electric screwdriver. The glass doors were not easy to line up as other reviewers mentioned. Once put together however, it's beautiful yet understated, highly functional in a casual dining room.

I purchased this buffet at the end of May. It came promptly and I assembled it. It took a significant amount of time to put together, but I was expecting that based on other reviews. But a few months after purchasing it I saw what looked like a light line around the frame of the side panel (the stain is very, very dark). Upon inspection, it is not a line, but the side panel is pulling away from the frame and I can now see through the side of the buffet. It has now happened on both sides. These side panels came pre-assembled, so I know I did not make an error in putting them together. The buffet is beautiful, but I had hoped it would be a better piece of furniture. If I had known, I would have saved my money and kept looking.

This cabinet looks exactly like the website description. It took me about five hours to assemble by myself, but it wasn't that difficult. The only problem I had was getting one door to line up exactly right, but it looks way more expensive than it was when it was finished.

This came in three boxes, and most every piece was clearly labeled. The problems occurred when we realizied that there were several pieces with multiple holes that had nothing to do with the construction, and several pieces that had no pilot holes at all. We had to make many pilot holes in order to continue. The instructions were not very clear in some spots. It took several hours of non-stop work to complete this project. The actual placement of the drawer runners was looking like it was going to be the dal breaker, but after many twists and turns, we figured it out. This piece looks like it came out of a showroom, not out of a box! After all is said and done, it is a very substantial, good-looking piece of furniture!

Great piece of furniture. I'm very good with tools and reading instructions but this piece took about three hours to assemble. Standard locking cam design used on unassembled furniture. I'd rate the instructions as a 9 out of 10. Be preparded to read the instructions once through and then assemble the piece following the instruction step-by-step. Getting the doors to align takes time because you need to adjust and readjust until they are level and symetrical. Once you're done, the piece looks like it's much more expensive.
