Handmade Tabriz Red/ Ivory Wool and Silk Rug (8' x 11')

We received our rug promptly. The rug was well wrapped in double plastic, and we were able to unwrap and have it laying flat on our previously bought and ready Superior Rug Pad in no time at all. There are not enough words to express the sublime elegance and beauty of this rug. The wool pile is soft, thick and densely woven, and feels as if one is walking on a soft cloud with bear/socks feet. The colors are gorgeous and more magnificent than in the picture on the "O" Website. The large Medallion in the center is a luscious Burgundy (Cabernet ) color; as is also the outer edge of the Border, and all other accents that are in red. The main Border is a bright, light, true Ivory providing wonderful and sharp contrast to the fabulous Burgundy in the rug. The center Circular Medallion, as well as the 4 Side Panels around the main Burgundy Medallion are all a beautiful, rich and perfect "Gold" color. Needless to say, all the intricate and beautiful detail of the design of this very special rug, is perfectly woven. The silk accents are all done in Ivory. They stand out delicately and further enhance the charming beauty of this fabulous rug. The wool pile, in addition to having all the properties mentioned above, also has a soft "luster" that shows the good quality of pure wool used here. As accents to be used in the same room, we also bought two (2'x3') of the same rug, however in the "Black" version. Our two little Black "Tabriz" rugs are absolutely gorgeous; and, they provide a stunning contrast to the main 8'x11' Red "Tabriz" rug. We would highly recommend this magnificent rug to anyone looking for something ultra elegant and rich; to be used in a living room, or any main room where there won't be too many pieces of heavy furniture placed on it. This rug should be enjoyed in a rather open area,.. where one can truly appreciate its authentic Persian design, its rich color palate, and its exceptional quality.
