like so many other reviewers, I wanted to believe the picture on the site. it's a gorgeous rug ... err ... a gorgeous picture. the pattern of the rug is exactly that you see on the screen. the rug came adequately packaged and in good shape. the colors however ..... :( ..... the colors are muted to the point of dull. the streaky background mentioned by certain other reviewers is there very very obviously. the background is not black or even charcoal.... it is a streaky mix of charcoal and dark brown... with the colors of the pattern woven through it. honestly, the coloring of the background makes reminded me of a dog with a brindle coat. if you do a search for images of "brindle dog" you'll see just what I mean. The colors of the rug I received do not at ALL match what i see on my screen. the greens are muted and faded looking pea green. there's no little bits of blue anywhere. the wide border that appears a soft gold on my screen, is actually somewhere between peach and camel. except for actually being in new condition, this rug's coloring appears very old and faded. there's a slight over-all green-ish cast that doesn't look quite right. I kept it only because I needed something on the floor for holiday entertaining. I just turned the lights down low. :(

The rug arrived in about a week, in very good condition. It was very well packed. The quality is good, and the wool feels thick and comfy. However, the colors were not the same as what was shown on the website. Instead of being vibrant and colorful, the colors were dull and dark. There was no blue color, only browns, beiges, greens, rusty reds and black. The background is not charcoal or black; it's a dark brown. The rug looked old, not a new rug with bright colors. I was disappointed in the colors, but satisfied with the quality and thickness of the wool. If you're not fussy about the colors, it's still a good buy.

The quality of this rug is first rate, it arrived relatively quickly and in good condition and it doesn't seem to shed as much as some. My only disappointment--though not a deal breaker--is the color pattern. It doesn't quite match the "brighter" version on line. Still it's a very good value.

Took a leap of faith with ordering this given the expense and hassle it would be to return. Agree with other reviewers that colors are much more muted than my monitor shows, but lovely none-the-less. Dominant colors are muted sage green, charcoal gray, muted rust - looks prettier than it sounds. Pattern exactly as pictured. Very plush. No bad smell as others have reported. Arrived well packaged and undamaged. Was looking for a high quality carpet that would look good over my new Brazilian Cherry floors without going broke. Very satisfied. Great value for the money - much more so than comparably priced rugs elsewhere.

While I was prepared based on others' reviews for a more muted color palate, I was not happy to receive a rug that was khaki, light brown and olive vs black, gold and blue. The overall effect was very somber. The quality was fine for the price, but the camouflage colors didn't work for us; we sent it back.

This is a beautiful, high-quality area rug, and looks beautiful over my beige carpet. I had thought that there would be more blue in the pattern, however, and was a bit disappointed when I laid it down, and had to really search for the blue places. (My walls are the blue that shows in the photo, and I have a recliner in that color also in the room.) I had wanted to pick up that shade a bit more. On the whole, though, it's a lovely addition to my home. I also bought this rug in a 2 x 3, as a rug beneath the pedals on my grand piano. The black in the pattern was the main reason I chose this rug, and it works beautifully with my ebony piano! It is thick, and densely woven, with a surprisingly soft hand for a wool rug. I would definitely recommend this rug.

The rug arrived in 3 days. I was very impressed with the quality and even though the colors aren't quite as bright as I expected it looks great. The price is exceptional too!!

felt confident in the colors based on previous reviews--they are a bit muted and work great in our office. the rug is plush and comfortable underfoot, even without a pad underneath. we've had some shedding but nothing extraordinary. for the price we couldn't, and haven't in the past, done better. the best thing was having my friends all gush over it when it arrived.

The quality of the rug was very good, but the colors were not at all as expected, leading to some disappointment. The colors appear faded--no vibrancy or life.

Base color is not as gold as the picture indicates, it is more of a beige, which suited my purposes perfectly. Nice color combination, goes with any decor.

This rug was a great deal! Exellent workmanship, much better than any thing I saw in stores for the same price. Some people said that they thought it shed alot. I did not find that to be true.

This was my first purchase with overstock.com. It was a very pleasant experience. The rug arrived on time and it was carefully packaged. The colors are not as described. They are not black and beige. They are charcoal and beige. This is stated on a label attached to the packaging. However, the rug is beautiful. The muted colors make this rug unique. The pile is dense and the cotton canvas backing is what you would expect from a high end carpet. Overall, I would recommend this carpet. You will feel you got quite a bargain. I don't know how they do it, but i'm glad they do.

Very happy with the quality, the rug was received as expected, however, the picture and description said black and beige. The rug is actually charcoal and beige.(it is printed on the tag attached to the rug itself) Not a true black. It worked well enough and I didn't want to hassle with returning it. It was a very good price for the 6x9, Hard to find in that price range. I would recommend this rug.

Surprisingy close to the colors on screen. That was my biggest worry purchasing home decor items on Overstock. This rug was a homerun and I couldn't be happier with the value and quality. There is a rustic, elegant quality to this piece and it goes well with our lifestyle in Park City, UT. It is also dark enough to cover up lots of "mud season" dirt in our entryway.
