This is a beautiful rug that feels great, too. The "rust" color is more of an orange, so beware. The brown background is a deep chocolate brown, and the starburst are a different texture than the background. It is not shedding at all, and looks like it costs thousands of dollars. If only the other rug I ordered from O was as nice and accurately portrayed on their site . . .

We bought this rug for our bedroom, as a companion to the lighter color Handmade Soho Beige Burst rug which we hope to have one day in our living room. That rug sold out so we received this one first. We liked it well enough, it is very well made, no shedding to speak of (although it has "Made in India" tags all over it, no sign of new Zealand.) The more we looked at it, the more we liked it. The more we stared and absorbed it in, the more we loved it. Although orange is not a color I would have thought of adding to our decorative palette, I must say the results are stunning. We have beige walls, dark wood furniture and wood floors. When we ordered the rug, we figured the bed would cover most of the color in this rug. Now we have rearranged our bedroom so more of the rug can be seen. In honor of our new beloved rug, we made an accent wall in the bedroom, (we used the smallest wall) "sunset glow," a red-orange paint from the True Value "simply red" line, which is the perfect blend of the red and orange bursts. Wow, what a great change! Thank you overstock.com!

This rug has raised cheap synthetic yarn for the pattern in a completely different material than the rest of the rug. It is distracting a cheap looking and impossible to see from the pictures.

I am very happy with this purchase. First of all, I ordered the rug on a holiday weekend and it arrived on Tuesday before I even received the email that it was on the way. previous reviews correctly state that the bursts are of different fabric.. but the rug feels rich and lush under your feet. my kids ( and cat) can't keep off the rug!) The orangish burst looked orange when first unrolled but when I put my dark cherry coffee table over it -- it looks more amber. The room adds a splash of color to the room without having to worry about looking dirty all the time (as with lighter colored rugs)

The colors really pop out and liven up the room. Not real comfortable to walk on but looks nice.

This rug is incredibly gorgeous. It looks like fireworks went off in our living room! We get compliments from all who enter our home. It is stunning. It does require extra vacuuming, and I am concerned about the overall holdup of the ribbon. I would however, highly recommend

Happy with the price and design. Reviews from other customers gave me the courage to order this online. As others have mentioned, the sunbursts are made from ribbon-type threads which is unexpected and should be in the description. It isn't as thick as other area rugs from Crate & Barrel or Pottery Barn but it doesn't have the high price point either. On the positive side, the colors are hip & vibrant and very true to what you see online. I've only had it 2 weeks and I've received many compliments from guests - everyone seems to love it.

This rug is gorgeous! It is very striking and is well made. It is thick and rich in color. I don't feel that it sheds any more than normal! I recommend this rug!!

I was so happy to see that Overstock is still carrying this rug and was prompted to leave a review about my time with this wonderful rug. I purchased it more than 2 years ago, and can report that it is beautifully made and very durable. As noted by others, the initial vacuuming will remove some of the 'burst' fibers, but I can attest to the fact that it will not affect the long-term quality. It works perfectly in our high-traffic living room, and has even withstood a cat who claws at it and chews at the bursts all the time. A wonderful investment! And totally gorgeous as well.

Extremely hard to clean. Looks great. I have 4 very good & expensive vacuums. Most vacuums won't be able to clean this carpet.

This rug is nothing less than spectacular! When I saw it on line, I loved it but didn't know how it would look live. Well, when I unrolled it, I loved it even more. The quality is great as well. It's nice and thick and tightly woven. A very well made rug.

I was sceptical about buying a rug without seeing it. I rarely write any kind of review but I find more and more that they become a great help to me when I want to purchase something on-line. So I am taking a moment to give my opinion to a fellow shopper. First let me say that the reviews that are written about this rug are pretty dead on. it is beautiful. Great colors, feel and quality. Should cost much more. Only draw back seems to be cleaning it. I have a Dyson and it does not work on it. I use the swivel Sweeper (another great product) and it seems to work well. I have not had any problem with fibers coming loose or shedding etc. I have a small dog and the rug is also in a high traffic area-no problem. If you are looking for a large rug to really brighten up a room and the colors work for you, go for it...Also, Overstock is really great to deal with. I got this delivered in a few days-great service. Thank you...

Purchased for my dining room during a 15% off Area Rug Sale and used a 10% off coupon so it was a great buy!! Initially, I ordered 7'6" X 9'6" Soho Burst Rug in biege, but returned it for the same rug in brown and a larger size. It's perfect for the space. LOVE the rug and the pop of color it provides. Other reviewers reported problems with vacuuming the rug, but so far I've encountered no problems using my Dyson on the rug over the past month. Just a tip: if you have to return the rug, use Overstock's pre-paid label as it was hassle-free and also much less expensive than trying to send it back on my own. I like the rug so well that I bought another for my living room.

The colored, flower sections of the rug are made of a ribbon-like material that sits slightly higher than the brown background. It is a beautiful looking rug. However, several of the ribbon pieces came out the first time I vacuumed the rug. I've vacuumed it several more times now, and that problem seems to have stopped. It was disappointing that it happned at all. The rug still looks great though.

Nice contemporary look and feel. Ribbon-like colors literally burst out of the brown layer beneath.

This rug is very striking and bold with rich color. I absolutely love it! It is definitely the first thing everyone notices when walking into my house. The only drawback is that it is high maintenance, which I somewhat expected because of the dark brown background since I have cats. Pet hair and dried grass show up immediately. I had read the reviews before I purchased it and the comments are true that you really can't vacuum this rug. The colored fibers ravel and pull out. I bought a battery powered "sweeper" that cleans the rug quite nicely without damaging it, even removes cat hair. I would definitely purchase this rug again because it is so unique and pretty.

The carpet does not look as pretty and impressive as it looks on the website. A few overbig starburst on the carpet make it lack the sophistication showed on the photo and the dark chocolate look drab and worn after a few days in the sunlight. Decent carpet for its price but not the best quality you may hope for your bedroom.

I purchased the 7.6'x9.6' and I absolutely love it. It adds so much color to the room. It looks like a different room. It is very heavy and great quality for the money. I ordered it on a Friday afternoon and was delivered 4 days later, great service. It looks just like the picture and the burst are slightly higher off the background and a different texture, which I love. The only negative I have is that the red is red, I thought it would be more of a garnet, burnt red color but I still love.

This rug is so pretty and looks great in my living room. I have had it for a few weeks now and the ribbons in the starbrusts are coming out and are not holding up well with wear. I would not buy another one, but they are really pretty.

I love the colors and the fact that it is wool. But I didn't expect the flowers to be made of a satiny-y material that was woven-through the wool rug. These strips that comprise the flowers don't hold up very well to vacuuming. They often fray from the vacuum cleaner, then I have to trim them to make them look right again. I've tried a lint brush to avoid vacuuming them, but it doesn't remove my dog's hair, under the flowers. Remember, this is a dark brown (background) rug so dog hair shows very easily. I did not take that into account. This particular rug is probably better for someone who doesn't have kids or dogs. So I'd recommend it to those individuals, only.
