I read the reviews prior to purchasing this rug. The other review stated that there was an extraordinary amount of shedding. I tried to vacuum over 8 times and used a lint roller and tape to collect all the shedding fibers... NO LUCK.. I got another rug at ***** for $100 more and not one strand is found with lint roller. If I were you, don't buy this rug based on the fact that there is so much shedding. You walk on it and the bottom of your pants and socks are covered in static fiber messes. Still have and can't return because of their policy, so I keep it rolled up - not sure what to do with it.

I debated over this rug for a YEAR. I finally got it and love it so much. I literally smile when I walk in the door and see it. This rug totally transformed my living room. I run the vaccum over it and it's fine, some of the ribbon thingys frayed a bit but I don't mind. I also have a very active dog and she just rolls around on it and doesn't bother the ribbon thingys. It's a great rug. Just buy it.

This rug is very interesting, in a good way! Its soft and the "star bursts" are actually made of ribbons that have been sewn into the wool rug and stick up about 1/3 of an inch, sort of like shag. Very cool. An issue... I've vacuumed it once so far and a few of the ribbons started to unravel. I cut the lose threads and now they look fine, but I'm concerned about the longevity of the rug. I might try putting a little bit of glue on the ends of the ribbons to keep them from unraveling, but that will be quite a project as there are a lot of them!

I looked at this rug for quite a while before deciding to purchase! It is beautiful and goes perfect with my decor. Ive received many compliments on this rug. The rug is wonderfully plush, however, when i vacuumed the rug for the first time, strands from the bursts came loose, so much so that i had to give the bursts a "haircut". . which i am hoping wont continue to happen.

I have had this rug for about a year now. I loved it at first, especially the sheen that the ribbon star bursts brought to the rug. If you are going to have this rug in a room that is not used, then this rug will be great. But if the room gets anything more than moderate use, I suggest you look elsewhere. I put this rug in front of our couch, and it has not worn well. The ribbon star bursts are all frayed now, from walking, sitting, vacuuming and cats (who like one area for scratching their claws on :( ). I started out now using the beater brush on the vacuum, but noticed that all of the loose fibers were not taken up this way. So I used the brush, and it did help to get up the excess fibers, but after a while it also started to eat the ribbons. And the rug still sheds! Most wool rugs shed a bit when you first get them, but I am still able to get massive handfuls of wool a year later. It is a beautiful rug, but it was not appropriate for where I wanted to use it.

When we first unrolls this rugs, I loved it - great quality, the colors were exactly as picture, playful textures, good thickness. We placed this rug under our dining room table, where we don't walk on it daily. After a year of use and weekly vacuuming, the rug has not worn as well as I hoped. It still sheds a bit, the ribbons of the "starbursts" are coming unraveled in multiple places and it seems to be a magnet for pet hair (and our dog barely spends any time on this rug). I do think it was a good value for the price, it still feels plush underfoot, but I'd probably recommend it only to those without pets or in a low traffic room.

I purchased this rug despite the reviews of shedding and the shimmer things coming off. It really IS a beautiful rug, however, I have had it for about 8 months now it still sheds like crazy. WE have leather furniture and it gets all dusty looking from the rug fibers, and when the ceiling fan is on with company and they walk all over it, forget it, you will have carpet fibers everywhere! Also, the shimmer things come off really bad. The kids easily pull them out, so if you have babies, DO NOT BUY THIS! If I lived alone, it probably wouldn't be so bad, but its terrible with kids :(

The carpet looks great and I loved the design...but the quality is the worst I have ever seen. At first, I thought all the loose threads and fibers were just because it is new, but I have had this rug for more than 6 months now and I am constantly picking up whole loops of carpet from the floor! Additionally after each time that I vaccuum, I have to turn my vaccuum cleaner over and cut away the fibers that wrapped around the brush--even though my vaccuum cleaner is set on the highest pile rug setting. At the rate it is going, this carpet will be completey pulled apart of its decorative design in less than 12 months!

My qualm is with the background or non stitched part of the rug. It's pretty much regular carpet, it doesn't have a nice 'rug' quality to it. The stitching is nice, there are a few snags but I think it'll hold up. There is a brown version of this rug that I think is way better. I will probably keep this rug for a year or two and toss it for something cooler.

The rug was delivered much earlier than promised. I was thrilled I wanted to use it for a party and it came two days before. Loved it. The price was great and it matched everything in the room. I would recommend O.com as their product it great and the price even better.

It will fall apart and shed. I returned once already and am having the same issue again. Really loved style,design etc., but this is not a rug that's going to last!

This is a really fun rug. it does have a good deal of shedding in the begining but that has slowed with a few runs of the vaccuum cleaner. The texture of the star burst is really a nice feature and add a lot of texture to the space. Plus the price is great!

Had this rug actually looked like in the picture, I would have been extatic as I have looked for something like this for a long time. However, that is not at all the case. Colors different, stitching different, very different, and it is not even nice looking. I would not recommend.

I love it, it looks so much better in home then on the. web site. It just makes my room.

Really beautiful rug with a contemporary flare that really works!

Rug is very cute and looks nice with furniture. Only thing is that the fabric doesn't do too well with spot cleaning, so be careful with spills. Nice for the price, though! Beware if you have cats...they like the raised threading and think of it as litter boxes!!! May not be optimal if you are a cat owner, otherwise great rug!
