Leather shag rug
We are very pleased with our new rug. It is very contemporary looking at a good price. It still has that new leather smell which is okay, but hope it will diminish over time. It's cool to look at and more fun to feel with your feet. It arrived faster than stated so no wait. Overall we are happy with our purchase from Overstock.com.

Leather rugs are the bomb....
I've had a red leather rug and another in brown for two years and they're great, very different. Some important points to consider and which are not "problems:" "new rug" smell; shedding; funky texture; cleaning. It's a leather rug made from rug scraps, so YES it's going to have an odor. Just put it outside in the fresh air for a few days before you lay it down. The scraps have been tied to a regular woven cotton rug, so they are going to come off --- just collect and save them in a bag. I have two of these rugs and a full one-liter bag of leather scraps after two years, and there are no "holes" in the rugs from all this leather coming off. Save it and you'll have something to sort a hole out with should it arise. In addition, this is not a rug for someone who wants to sink his or her bare feet into after getting off the bed --- IT"S LEATHER. I, for one, love the feel of leather and rather like the way it feels on bare feet. Many people are surprised these rugs are leather, and men especially notice them and think they are totally cool (and it's a woman writing this review). Finally, cleaning question: the answer is the old fashioned way of shaking the rug out and smacking it with a damaged tennis racket on the side THAT DOES NOT HAVE THE LEATHER on it. I just ordered more of these rugs, two black round ones for stairwell landings (3 ft. diameter, ordered form a different online retailer) and three more from overstock in different sizes (black 3x5, purple 2x8 and purple 3x4), and they are just as great as those I already purchased. Please don't order this thinking it's going to be some plush, fluffy comfy rug. This is a rug for someone who has a bit more edgy tastes and likes texture (visually and physically) in his or her design choices.

Rug with "personality"
Rug looks great. Once you air it out for a few days to get the strong leather odor out, has lots of personality and adds interest to the room. Great quality for the price. Looks rich but really needs a lot of initial airing.

Super Mod!
This rug was just the right accent piece under my leather futon. It has great texture and gives a cool vibe to my office space. Cannot beat the price! It was also packaged extremely well for shipping.
