Everyone has a different idea of what red should look like. I read the other reviews and the opinions were very mixed. I took a chance. The color in my opinion is burgandy, not red, though I suppose that is a shade of red. The rug came quickly. It was packaged well to protect it from the elements. The feel underfoot is very rich. The only problem is that it sheds some. There are always some wool fibers on my socks when I walk in my stocking feet. I hope as time goes on that that will diminish. It is something that I can live with.
