    Really was a little apprehensive about buying the rug as I usually go 'name brand' on my sisals/jute, i.e., from ***** or *****.... BUT...this rug is GREAT! Just as nice quality, if not better...the rug pad is actually part of the rug, so I can eliminate the need for a rug pad. SUPER!

  • Great rug

    This is a fabulous rug. It is a rich color and soft enough to walk on barefoot. The only downside is that when the rug arrived it smelled unbelievably awful. I had to leave it outside for 2 days and even then it smelled a little when I brought it in. Now I have had it for more that 6 months and it is a great rug and a great value.

  • Nice rug

    This rug is much better quality than I anticipated. I wanted a rug with some "texture" for my dining room and it really adds some "pop" to the room. I am pleasantly surprised at how heavy (or maybe I should say thick) it is. The price is definitely great for such a rug.

    great rug for under my kitchen table. It has some flecks of color sprinkled throughout so it hides any stray crumbs nicely! Great price - fast shipping and perfect!

  • Needed a replacement for same type of rug

    I needed a replacement of this type of rug for my kitchen. This one is a bit more rough than my last one, so walking with bare feet takes some getting used to. But I ordered this one due to one reviewer how stain resistant it was. I have not had anything spill yet, so I cannot speak to that at this point. The rug does have a smell (which I expected as the material is known for that) but it does dissipate after a while. I am quite happy with this purchase.

  • great rug!

    Great rug! I love the backing so I don't have to use a separate rug pad. It's a beautiful color that compliments my living room. it's nice on the feet and my dog LOVES to roll around on it in the morning.It vacuums very well...all dog hair comes right up! I think it's a great value for the money.

The materials said sisal and cotton, but when the rug arrived it has a "non skid" bottom that has a smell (glue, rubber, I'm not sure what). This material should be included in the list of materials, but it was not. I am airing it out to see if I can get the smell to clear, but am frustrated that it was not listed in the description. courtenayr on Feb 8, 2013

I agree, it should be listed in the description. We have purchased two of these rugs and we liked the fact that it had a rubber backing. For that reason we didn't see a need for a carpet pad. The smell quickly goes away after 3-5 days. Give it time. bagwell1 on Apr 4, 2013

Yes this can be professionally cleaned. Vacuum the rug weekly, vacuuming the underside, too, if possible. Professional cleaners should only use a dry extraction process, not steam or shampoo, on the rug. Blot spills immediately with a clean towel.
