Have this under the bed, so it only hangs out at each side. The side my husband gets out of bed on has begun to unravel... Literally the way it is woven, it is just falling apart. This part of the room receives traffic 2 times a day for less than a minute! He gets into bed, gets out of bed, bare feet...no reasonable excuse or explanation for the fact that it has fallen apart on that side. We had it for 1 month when this happened. There is also an unbelievable amount of dirt/dust that is coming off it, and has built up into a gray powder (superfine/abrasive) underneath. It will kill the hardwood shine, so it will need a mat underneath...if you are feeling lucky and order this, do not use it in a high traffic area (our zero-traffic area should be an indicator as to it's wearability), or anywhere you cannot lift it to vacuum underneath (the grass breaks down to dust when you walk on it even with socks), or without a mat. People with allergies to dust would go crazy with this...it is literally breaking down on its own, it would be weird and amusing if It weren't so big/expensive.

I just purchased my second of this size rug. I have had the first rug for a year in my dining room and it has held up beautifully. It is thick and holds up well to my 2 cats and 2 dogs, who all love to sit on and sometimes scratch/bite it. It still looks good. I purchased a second one to go under my queen size bed and it seems to be exactly the same in size, color, and quality as the rug I purchased over a year ago. As far as the dirt/dust that other reviewers have mentioned, that is the dust from your house accumulating under the rug. Since there is no backing on jute rugs, you have to vacuum under it occasionally in order to remove the dust that falls through. Rugs with backings simply hold the dust inside of them. I will be purchasing more of these rugs in various sizes for my home. Very good value and not at all orangey.

This rug was (it's in tatters now) lovely, chunky, subtly colored looked beautiful on my beige tiled floor....until it began coming apart around the end edges within 6 months. :(

I saved up for an entire year to buy new laminate flooring. Last Sat. I had it installed. It was $1000 with installation. The floor is beautiful. I ordered this rug and when it arrived I was so pleased. It is well made and nice looking. I couldn't wait to put it down. I have had it down on my new floor only one week. Today, after the grandchildren left, I decided to pick it up and sweep under it. OMG! Under the entire rug was a sandy gritty substance! I instantly removed the rug and swept, vac, and washed the new flooring only to realize that this rug scratched and marked my entire floor where it was laying! I could just cry! I read another review that said she had a sandy material under her rug also, but no mention of this total scratching. The rug actually left lines where every single row of thread is! OVERSTOCK is great and will refund my money for the "inconvenience" but this is not an inconvenience it is a disaster. I am so sad. I will continue to shop with OVERSTOCK because I feel they are a good company, but they need to get this rug off their website. I Have no choice but to cover my floor now forever and ever and it is brand new....

I put this rug in one of the guest bedrooms. The size and color is genuine to the description. I was surprise that it was as smooth to walk on being that visually it looks rough. Right away as soon as I put the rug down, I LOVED it!! Shipping was super fast, it was packaged well. It was a little thicker than I expected, but a great textured, somewhat nubby look, not a real tight weave. I think this is what made it feel so soft underfoot, you do feel the larger weave more but it feels like a foot massage, not uncomfortable. It is hard to tell from the onsite photos, but there is some variation in the color, giving it a subtle striated (striped) look in the weave, which my husband and I loved. As others have stated, there is a slight earthy grassy smell, but it soon went away. We put our rug in the great room, so it gets a good bit of traffic, I would be concerned if a door had to open over the rug because it is pretty thick, luckily we do not have a door to worry about. One morning while my husband was eating breakfast he was staring into the great room from the dining table and he said to me "you did a great job with the rug". I think that is the ultimate compliment.

I was a little nervous purchasing jute rugs online since I wasn't sure about the color and quality and I have to say that I'm pretty satisfied! The color was even better in person and the quality is pretty darn good. There are a handful of pieces that have popped up/out, but they easily tuck back into the weave. They look great in my room, glad I got them here and saved some money!

Awesome rug for the money! You won't be disappointed. Unlike other rugs I have purchased in the past in the same material, this one is actually comfortable to walk on with bare feet and vacuums easily.

I got this rug to put under a black dining table on on top of a dark wood floor. This was the perfect color to break up the darkness between the two. I love the rustic natural feel that it gives the room , very shabby chic. Does not show dirt, vacuums well and is soft enough that I find my 4 yr old laying on it. It is nubby and has alot of texture to it.

The rug is actually 100% jute, not sisal, and the weave is actually larger and much more chunky that it appears in the photograph. It was not what I expected and therefore returned it.

Just got this rug a few days ago and love it! It is exactly what I wanted it to be, and fits the space perfectly. Even though it has only been down a few days, i can already attest to the dirt buildup underneath the rug. Hopefully won't cause too many problems. We'll see if it holds up well over time. Right now, though, I love it!

When reading the reviews on these rugs one of the things that caught my eye was how soft everyone said it was. My rug came in yesterday and we laid it out. It is so pretty. I have two small children and we are ALWAYS on the floor. Sitting, crawling, laying. I don't think the other reviewers have small children or spend much time on the floor. if so, they actually would have said that the rug is very hard to the touch. It is hard on the knees, and it leaves stringy straw stuff all over your clothes. I am keeping the rug because it is pretty and my children won't be small forever. Great buy for the cost. By the way, the rug is made of 100% Jute, no Sisal. Jute is a natural plant fiber. Because of this the rug has a bit of a "dirt" smell. I assume it will go away with time.

Agree with other reviewers, this is thick, kind to bare feet and beautiful variation of natural colors. Very much worth the price. Although we stored it for a couple of months rolled up, it had very little curl around the edges. Would order again.

This is an amazing rug for the $$!!! It is very think, and even soft, for a natural fiber rug. It is much prettier in person; the pictures just do not do this rug justice. I LOVE my new rug, so much so, that I think I am going to order another one for a differnt room in our house. :)

We are very pleased with this rug. I had a question in my mind about comfort on bare feet, it is fine. The color is rich and compliments the weave. Makes us smile.

The stated content on this rug is 100% jute. Jute and sisal are not the same fibers. It does not mention sisal anywhere on this rug.

I purchased this rug for our living room and although it looked nice aesthetically, it smelled up our home for 7 days after my husband finally got fed up and threw it away! It was also full of dirt which I swept up 3 pans full after we threw it away. I would most definitely NOT recommend this rug to anyone who does not want a super smelly musky dirty home. Terrible purchase. Very disappointing...and I am not very picky.
