First, this rug is about an inch THICK and soft. I find it doesn't need a mat (though I bought one). I wanted exactly a rug like this and bought what I thought was the closest fit. So I was very pleasantly surprised. It is perfect for high traffic areas like my little kitchen. I wanted softness, easy to haul & hose outside, and something to filter litter box strays and other small dirt. Once a week, I vacuum it, then roll it and vacuum the floor beneath. It is working GREAT, FEELS great on my bare feet, and LOOKS so much cleaner and nicer than the linoleum beneath it. So, maybe I got lucky, but the quality is very good and I just bought another one for a small sun room. I'm happy! :)

The rug is very nice and soft and thick. My problem with the description was that it said "Very fine sisal" and it turned out to be a thick, chunky jute. Kept it anyway.

We are using this rug on our outdoor patio. So far it is holding up beautifully. Even though it says it's for indoor use only, in Southern California we don't get a whole lot of wet weather so I'm hoping it holds up for a while. It's very soft on your feet and I would even consider buying one for inside our house as well.

I have received but not put into use this rug, which is intended to "lighten up" the look of the living room for summer. I am impressed with the quality of the rug, given the very reasonable price. I would think that the colors would vary a bit since it is handwoven, though mine looks very similar to the picture. Not able to speak to how it wears, though if it lasts through only 2 summers, I will feel I have gotten my money's worth! Strongly recommend!

Fantastic product! Although I would not reccommend for high trafic areas, it is perfect for a lounge area or bedroom. Because of it's plushness it is well suited for barefeet.Soft underfoot and well made. I have not experienced any shedding like previous comments.

Nice chunky, thick rug. It is very similar to a chunky jute rug I got from Overstock, without the fringe. It is nice, but not a fine sisal, which was in the description.

Some of the other reviews said to watch out that this rug is thicker than the description says. This is true. I even contacted customer service in advance and confirmed the thickness of the rug. When it arrived it was a half inch thicker than the description says so if wouldn't fit in my entry. I love, love, love this rug but it is definitely THICK! We get a ton of compliments on it ... Just don't put it near a door! Because it is natural, it does shed a lot but no one knows since most people don't look under your rug for the "rug dust".

I had high hopes for these rugs, but they felt weird under foot and a ton of "dirt" debris kept falling out under it. Just not what I was looking for.

This is a great rug! It's a little thicker than I expected (though I did read previous reviews), but I love the color and it really gives a "natural" feel to my light gray living room. I'm very pleased with the quality for the cost.

I have hard wood floors and some of the reviews have said that the rug sheds a little bit. I have had the rug for about a month and I haven't had any shedding or fraying. Love this rug. Wish they had it this rug in a bigger size because I would be buying another one then.

This rug looks great. It is a little more knobbly than I expected and more so than another jute rug I have but the chunky texture looks and feels great. I've had to pull a couple of loops back through the other side but so far it's holding up well.

For some reason this rug got sent to my son in California. I did click the button that said ship it to the payee or what ever it says. The thing that impressed me was, the courteous, expedient way the Overstock representative handled the mistake. No excuses, no whineing, no broken promises. Just, "yes mam we will get your rug to you asap". and they did! Nice rug, lots of character with the bumpy weave.

I bought 3 of these rugs and they are quite nice. The only negative is the rug is very thick. It can't lay in front of a door if the door needs to be opened and closed. The rugs rolled out well, had really no smell and layed flat almost immediately. I did tape the edges of the rugs down for the first few days because I was afraid of tripping on them since they are so thick. It's been a week and I still have to be aware of stepping on the rugs because they are so thick. Nice rugs but I would have liked them much thinner!
