After studying this rug online for a few months, I finally decided to take the plunge and order it. The rug was just about what I had envisioned: each chunk of felted wool is about half an inch to three-quarters thick and about an inch high. It has kind of a "pebbly" look -- a lot of great texture. I would describe the color as tan with a touch of gray. "Greige" but more beige than gray. As for the shedding, I was prepared for it so it was no surprise. All wool rugs tend to shed and this one is no exception. I've had it for a few weeks now and the shedding is much better, though it hasn't stopped completely. There was a bit of a "sheepy" smell when I first unrolled it but it is pretty much gone now. The rug feels really nice underfoot, very thick and luxurious. I hope it holds up to heavy traffic and lasts a while! Comparable rugs are hundreds of $$ more so this was a very good deal. If you're looking for a neutral-colored, modern area rug with tons of texture, this rug might be for you!
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Fairly accurate -- I would call it beige with a touch of gray.
Please tell us about the quality of the product. Well-made. Quality seems very good
How accurate was the on site description of the product? Product description should include pile width along with the height.
Very happy with this rug. Researched for comparable rugs and price is at least double on other sites. Quality is great. Very soft, and compforatble to sit on. Color is pretty true in first picture (entire rug) - the other pics give you good idea of the pile, but looks a lot lighter in color on my computer. The rug is a "dirty" brown color - just dark enough to hid any dirt and stains. The pile is the width of your thumb. Rug is very heavy and substantial. Wool should hold up - it does shed but not as bad as I expected, based on there's comments. No different than any other wool rug. In time, it will stop. Great value, love this rug.
This rug is totally worth the money. Compared to what i've seen in stores, this rug feels like it should be very expensive. It is by no means cheap on this website, but i could easily see stores charging much more. The only real difference I noticed from O's description is the size of the "shag". I pictured the pieces being a little smaller. These are big pieces of wool. This feature makes the rug very comfortable. It is not itchy, just extremely plush for your feet. It has an organic, natural look so it is not totally sleek and neat. It looks modern however it can easily go with a woodsy, earthy decor. If you have the space, get this rug your feet with thank you!! You can throw some pillows on this rug and make it a nice seating area. As for the shedding, I just laid it out a few days ago so it is still shedding. The shedding is manageable. It doesn't fly around the room it just kind of clumps on top of the rug.
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? color is nice, pretty much the same color as picture
Please tell us about the quality of the product. very good quality
How accurate was the on site description of the product? very good
This is a great looking rug. It is wool and looks exactly like the nimbus rugs in top retail stores - but at a fraction of the cost! The color is a pretty good match with the picture. It is in the beige/khaki family. I did scotch guard the entire rug with no problems. It is wool, so expect fuzz balls around, but well worth the warmth and the look! I did not put a rug pad down, but I do have furniture on top so the rug does not slide on the wood floors. This is a nice addition to a living space.
I LOVED this rug when it first arrived. The visual & tactile textures were wonderful and really made our room pop. It shed a bunch when it was first unrolled which was to be expected. We made sure to vacuum frequently to get the loose bits & lint up and figured after a time the shedding would lessen.
W were very wrong.
We've had it 6 months and are ready to throw it out. We vacuum 3-4 times a week to try to keep the shedding from taking over our house and it fills the vacuum every single time. The nap looks worn and flat now and it still sheds and is looking like an old run after just these few months.
Only two of us live in the house so it doesn't get extensive traffic, this is not what we were expecting from this rug.
The only thing I can say is thank goodness we only spent $400 on here rather than the $1200 we saw it for in stores!
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Very close

POOR quality! i've had this rug for 4 months and it still sheds all the time. im getting rid of it! i HATE vacuuming the tufts of wool o fins all over my house. DO NOT BUY, PLEASE!!!! also, the shag pieces flatten so it always looks like a flat matted disaster.
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? ok, more grey in real life
Please tell us about the quality of the product. very poor
this is an excellent rug, will add texture to the room, but because it is wool, it will shed, need to vaccum the rug often and vaccum the area around the rug too. yet i am very happy with the quality and price.
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? the color of the rug is oatmeal
Please tell us about the quality of the product. ever nice
How accurate was the on site description of the product? good
I was disapointed in how this rug looks - the color is not pretty - it has a gray tone over a light tan and looks dirty. And part of the problem could be dirt - it was dumped onto my wet driveway by FedEx, and the backing clearly has some streaks of dirt. The pile looks uneven, and the individual tufts are much bigger and thicker and make the rug look chunkier than I thought it would based on the picture. We're keeping it because it would be a big pain to wrap it up and ship it back, but I was deceived by the glowing reviews on the site.
And yes, it sheds as mentions in other reviews.
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? color wasn't as pretty - looks dirty
Please tell us about the quality of the product. ok, not what I expected based on other reviews
How accurate was the on site description of the product? it was factually correct

What is the true color of this rug? The description says "smoky brown" but in the photo the color looks like a very pale beige. Thanks.waitforit on Feb 22, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
