It is what i was invisioning!. It is made with wide strips of leather, about 1/3 inch wide running the width and the jude (or some sort of thick fiber going lengthwise to hold it together). Feels good on the feed. It is not the soft cudly kind of feel (not like a soft carpet would be, but that should be expected). My very picky hubby approved it once he walked on it, so its got to be good :). I had a few pieces of leather come off, but i think they were not attached in the first place, just where they trimmed during the making process. It is a cooler brown, some said purple, I probably would not go that far. It does have a greyish/colder tone in some places where leather is facing out with the inside, not the polished side, but overrall it is not purple or grey, just a cold tone of brown (no gold tones in this one). Matched what i wanted perfectly.

It's a good rug for the price, but we were disappointed that the color was darker with a gray tinge whereas we were looking for a different shade of brown.

The smell did go away after about three days. The color is completely different than the pictures-mostly deep purple and lavender. I did not have a rug pad-but I did have a coffee table on top of it-and it did not move around at all, even with my dog playing on it. I would have loved the rug if the color was brown like the picture.

i bought this product months ago to put under my dining room table. I wish it held up better but it's impossible to vaccum. If you run the vacuum over it to shreds. I wish someone told me this. i don't know how else to keep it clean. i would definitely not recommend this product to anyone.

I think this was a great addition to my room. It provided the much needed anchor and texture I was looking for. I don't smell the "leather smell" that other reviewers mentioned. Great price for the size.

I have had this out for about three days now and it looks great feels pretty good on my feet. The only bad thing is that it smell bad, my whole house still smell like leather after days. I hope that it goes away!!
