Purchased this rug for my son's room and couldn't be more pleased with the color. It's definitely red, but because of the weave, it's not at all bright -- just a very rich, saturated color. While my son, who is six, would have preferred something a little more plush, I think we'll get more longevity out of the thinner weave. Besides, as he happily pointed out to me this afternoon, if it were a thick, shaggy carpet, he would NOT be able to build Lego structures on it!

this rug looked like a big woven blanket. I wouldn't put it in my house---we will use it as a rug when camping. I thought it was heavier. I love over stock. com but probably did not order the right thing for my needs.
