This rug is seen from a distance for a good reason -- it is very loosely woven and looks nothing like the picture. Unless you want something really "rural" in appearance, do not buy!
i just bought this rug and i'm definitely impressed. it has awesome texture and good depth. it's heavy and looks like a rug. it's handwoven, and the perfect amount of imperfection really makes it look like it cost a lot more. i give this thing 5 stars for sure. it's between 3/8th and 3/4" thick depending on the spot.
I bought the "aubergine". The color is not as deep as eggplant - more muted but looks rich and warm. I like the twisty, knotty woven texture. The rug has a handmade, exotic quality. Also, the rug is easily vacuumed (gentle/bare floor setting definitely works best - brushes and rollers cause damage). Most importantly, the rug is holding its own against my dogs.
This rug is not what I expected, but I like it. The woven 'loops' are varied in size and the rug has a strange feel to it when you walk on it. I purchased it for an entry way rug, but it's not quite the right type of rug for that purpose. It looks great in front of my sofa, though. It definitely added some character to my living room and I have received good comments from friends and family about it.
this rug isn't bad, but not great either. the thing i disliked most is that it is VERY assymetrical & loops are uneven. the sides are uneven & don't appear like the picture. not bad for the price but definately won't use it for an indoor area; better for a porch, hallway, entry, garage area etc.
this rug was not exactly what I expected, but I like it and plan to use it in our family/guest room as planned. It was much loopier than I thought it would be, and not as rich a brown as i thought, it looks a bit more rustic which works out well for me. my dogs love to scratch their backs on it and it feels good to walk on too, doesn't shed, it seems well made and looks good, good value.
well, the rug wasn't exactly what i was expecting when i first got it, but it compliments my furniture spectacularly and fits the living room quite well! overall for the price it was a great buy!
a really beautifully made rug. I was thinking it was going to be a much deeper brown, but it is a milk chocolate color with some flecks of tan. I am not disapointed though, it couldnt be any better looking. Also, it is much more textured than i imagined it to be, again not disapointed. I love this rug, it goes great in my living room and feels so good under the feet, not scratchy at all
I was looking for a rug to anchor my leather coffee table in the living room. This rug arrived in a "rolled" package and it was perfect the moment we laid it out. The texture of the loops was a nice treat to our feet ... it makes you want to touch it. I took a chance and ordered the "orange" color and it is a beautiful burnt spice, which is exactly what I hoped for. I am also considering the chocolate colored rug for another room. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Of course, I would be thrilled if Overstock could bring in a matching orange "runner" that I could use in my foyer.
I just received this rug, in 2 days time, and I totally love it. I thought it would look more flat, like the back of the rug, but it is looped, and it stands up. It is rather rough, but I like that. The brown color is so chocolate and rich looking. I put it under my bed, a full size bed, and it just fits. If you have a queen or king bed, it will be too small. I now have a rich brown duvet cover, which I also bought from Overstock, and totally transformed my bedroom from a summer, all white room, to a rich, and luxurious brown fall/winter bedroom. I want another rug in the smaller size, but it is sold out. Will continue to check until I can purchase the smaller brown rug for another room.
Like another reviewer stated, this rug is not flat. It's got a raised thick knotty weave. But for the price and the fact that color is exactly what I was looking for, I can live with the thicker rug. I ordered the green and it is the color that showed in the picture--a green/yellowish-gold. Now if I can just keep my dogs from ruining it...
It definitely looks hand woven. Very thick knotted loops. It looks expensive. I wanted something flatter, but it is nice.
My husband just loves walking on this rug barefoot. It has a rough texture, but that's exactly what we love about it and the orange is a nice dark orange with some beautiful color variation - looks great in our bedroom and was exactly what I expected from the picture I saw online. You do need a rug pad with the 5 x 8 size or you will slip on the corners. We like it so much we're thinking of adding a couple of the smaller sizes on each side of our bed. Initially I was worried that because the loops in the rug varied in height that it might get caught in our vacuum, but I have no problems whatsoever (I do adjust the height of the vacuum bristles to be on the safe side). The rug also arrived within days of ordering. I would recommend this rug to anyone who likes a sturdy, textured feel under their feet. If you're looking for soft, this is not for you.
I really like my rug. I bought it for my bedroom, but moved it to the family room because it is pretty indestructible. Other reviewers seemed surprised by the loopiness of the texture. I like the texture, which is jute, afterall, not wool. It feels great on the feet, especially if you have an itch. Its a fun rug, great color. Mine is aubergine, very nice match to my pottery colored couch.
I loved the deep dark blue color of the rug. It was exactly what I was hoping the color would be. The "rugged-looking" rug is very easy to vacumn also. The quality of the rug is great for the price.
i was pleasantly surprised at the texture and colors of these rugs. i have natural and brown. they have a variation to the dyeing that looks expensive. they are also very nubby, hard to tell in the picture. the reason i gave 4 stars for the quality is that on one, one corner isn't square and on the same rug one of the loops has come undone. not too noticable, really.
I had to send this rug back. The color was lovely but it was so dusty and dirty (made in India) I could not stand it so I sent it back. To O's credit, they made the process easy and quick.
I was not happy with the color of the jute rug. I ordered a Red Border but when the rug arrived it had a burgandy border. I looked at the tag attached to the package and the word Burgandy had been whited out, but not very well, and the word Red was written over it. I intend to remove the border and just use the rug borderless. In the future, I will not purchase colored items sight unseen from Overstock.com.
