The rug is awesome & has a more bohemian feel. The texture is more like a strawish fabric than actual fabric, which is what we wanted. It's super light once down, so our dogs flip the edges when they run around, just be aware if you aren't putting anything heavy on top - it'll move around a lot.
Very disappointed with this rug, and in fact, although brand new, I had it taken to the dump last week. It is extremely rough and sheds horribly. If you have asthma, allergies or any sinus issues, stay away from this rug. There would be no way to vacuum this rug that I can see because of the pile, which is a large loop.
I replaced this rug with a silver shag (also from Overstock) with which I am delighted. Check out the silver shag (guess it comes in other colors, too?)

The color is a nice beige with browns and grays throughout as shown in the photo. The Jute is a loop pile but we still needed a felt pad for sufficient cushioning. Overall I believe this rug is a great value for the size and quality. I've only had the rug for a month or so, but it seems like it will last even with dogs and kids.
We just bought our first house and we are in the process of furnishing it. When looking for a large (8 x 10 or larger) area rug on a budget, natural fibers (like jute & sisal) are usually good bet. The trade off being that they are not as soft as cotton, wool, or any of the other more expensive materials. The other rugs that I loved in the 8x10 size range were at least $400, or they looked exactly like some of the other "cheaper" rugs in my house.
The other reviews are spot on. The look of this rug is really beautiful - the wider looping makes it look like a cross between jute and wool, and it adds some welcomed texture to my formal living room. It is surprisingly soft - for jute. I've had natural fiber rugs before that felt like sandpaper and this is a huge improvement. Though this rug will feel very rough if your are comparing it to a softer material. We have a cream shag rug in our family room (also from overstock - my new go to for well priced nice rugs) and there's no comparison in terms of softness. We just decided that we wanted the rug to fit the room more than we wanted it to feel super soft. It's only a formal living room anyway and it will not get as much use as some of our other rooms where we splurged on softer rugs.
All in all, a good buy for the money if you want a nice looking neutral rug without a huge price tag. It just depends how sensitive your feet are :)
