Have read complaints about creases in the rug due to being shipped folded. Our rug shipped folded, but there was no crease evident anywhere in any way. Also read complaints about an unpleasant smell. Our rug had no unpleasant smell at all.

This is an unusual rug. Yes, it has an odor which goes away within several days. And yes, it is made of hemp which creates a slightly unusual look to it. I'm using it in a large eat in kitchen under the table and it gives the area a more upscale look (rather than a kitchen/cafe casual look) which I liked. It isn't the thickest rug and it isn't the most durable but it is good enough and for the money, wow, a great value.

I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO RECEIVING THIS RUG, AND WHEN IT WAS DELIVERED, IT LOOKED JUST AS PICTURED. HOWEVER, IT HAD AN ODOR THAT WOULD NOT DISSIPATE. I TRIED FEBREEZE; I PUT IT OUTSIDE FOR A FEW DAYS, BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE ODOR REMAINED NAUSEATING. IT IS STILL OUTSIDE.

It definately looks different than the pictures. The smell of the rug the first few days was awful, and stuck up the entire house. It has a neat texture. I bought it for the living room but not cozy enough so will probably end up using under the dinning room table

This rug is amazing, I am in love with it. It looks much more expensive then I paid. The size is perfect for my smaller space and looks great with my black, gray and linen furniture. I have it on a tan colored rug and it really warms up the space. The woven texture feels great and looks even better, although it is darker then pictured (more leather then hemp) it is still an awesome product.

I liked this rug in terms of color and texture and its rustic look. My particular rug had a very strong odor - not of leather but more because of the hemp. It smelled like a hayloft and so I took several days and aired it outside but to no avail. It was not subtle but very very strong so I had to reluctantly send it back.

i wasn't sure what to expect upon delivery of this rug, if it's put on a smooth surface you definately need a pad but i believe it may say that. it's a cool rug especially good deal. my dogs love it too - now that there is a pad inder it.

I bought this rug intending to place it in a 15' x 15' bedroom that I've converted to a theater room. I have dark wood furniture and a dark brown futon in the room which has mauve-grey walls. The theater components are mostly black. The rug brings everything together nicely and has a chunky texture that I actually enjoy underfoot. It looks much more masculine than the floral or abstract options on this site. I placed a leather flip-top ottoman on top of it and it all goes together nicely.

After reading some other reviews on here I was a little nervous. However, it has been a month and I have had zero problems with it. As others noted, there is an interesting smell with it, but considering the materials used it only makes sense. I have cinnamon air fresheners in my home and that combined with the new rug it smelled like a craft store or an antique store, and I didn't hate it. But that only lasted for a few days. This rug is used in my home underneath our kitchen table. So, although it isn't a high foot traffic area, it certainly does see a lot of action. We have two big dogs, a one year old and frequent guests- and it has kept up with all of our craziness! I have not seen any pulling or loose hemp/leather. This is the first product I have purchased through Overstock and I will definitely purchase again!

The rug comes neatly rolled into a small bundle. It is relatively light in weight; it can be moved easily and cleaned easily by taking it outdoors and beating it. Pleasant to walk on barefoot. Adds a realy unique appearance to any room. I can highly recommend it.

We love this rug! It is very attractive and we get positive comments from house guests all the time. We have two dogs and two cats and it has held up wonderfully to the traffic and claws :) It is woven and all the dirt goes through the rug, so it has to be moved to be cleaned under, but that doesn't pose a problem for me. I would definitely recommend this rug!

Don't hesitate to buy this rug for a world market type of look- Leather and hemp are woven together and feel fairly soft to step on. Lays flat and easy to clean. Love this rug. It is just the texture and natural fiber I was hoping for. I use it on our covered, pavered lanai under the patio furniture and it lays perfectly flat. When it rains, I simply roll it up and move it further undercover. Excellent price for this beautiful, quality rug!

If you are looking for a sturdy rug with a more rustic/ masculine/ lodge/ textural feel, this is a good pick. The tan hemp twine runs up and down the weave and the dark brown leather "rope" runs side to side. It feels nicely cushy underfoot, especially for a flatweave rug, because of the large amount of leather. It wasn't what I was looking for in my bedroom, however, and I returned it because the there was no close-up photo to warn me of the high degree of texture and contrast in the rug.

I love the rug - trying to keep a neutral scheme for throw rugs in the townhouse. The only pain is that it came folded - no luck so far in the seam laying better.
