Hand-tufted Elegant Maroon New Zealand Wool Rug (4' x 6')

This isn't the first time when my opinion about a rug purchased from Overstock differs dramatically from that of the other reviewers. In the case of this particular rug, let's start from the beginning: the description says the pile is 1.5" high, and the reviewers all remark on how thick and plush this rug is. In reality the rug is just barely 0.5" thick - I even measured to make sure my sight wasn't deceiving me. At least one reviewer said that the middle of the rug is very light in color, like cream or ivory - not so! It's a very dirty-looking dark beige (or tan). A clean, light color was important to me, since my furniture is all dark espresso, and I wanted the rug to pop. In fact, the colors on this one are all muddy to the point where even the maroon actually kind of blends in. There really isn't the sort of contrast between the colors of the rug that you would expect from the picture, and the maroon and the hunter green at first glance are barely distinguishable. I can't believe this rug costs close to $xxx- it's not worth a third of that in my opinion. It's as if the other customers got the real thing and I got a cheap knockoff - I don't know what else to think. Oh, I ordered this rug in a 5' x 8', but was sent a 4' x 6', so I am posting my review on both pages.

I love the rug!!! Plush and thick and beautiful colors. The vines look green and some of the other areas that look green in the picture actually are more gold, but it worked for me and my decor. Great value for the money.

I love Overstock's wool rugs they are always beautifully made, this rug is no exception the colors are true and it is nice and thick, I would buy again and would recommend it to anyone.

I would recommend it for a high traffic area of your home. I plan to use on my big foyer area. It is very good looking and elegant. The colors are lovely and beautiful. It is thick run and very comfortable to walk on.
