This is an absolutely beautiful rug. However, I noticed after about 6 months of use that some areas of the pile, specifically the lighter brown middle section, was losing its plushness. It started to mat down and not lift upon vacuuming. By the way, there are only two of us and we do not wear shoes in the house. I was disappointed, but thought it too much trouble to return. Unfortunately, it got worse. A part of the section of the rug is now bare after being sucked up into my vacuum. It happened so quickly that I didn't even have time to turn off the vacuum. I have never had the cheapest of rug do that. Completely bummed.
Originally I purchased the smaller rug for the dining area and loved the quality, for the price I really do not think you can do much better. It is a thick and soft rug and you do not need a pad underneath it at all. I wanted to purchase the larger rug for the living room but the wife wasn't too happy with the colors and design. After looking for a while we really could not find anything we both liked and I was able to talk her into getting this one. Once layed out in the living room she started to like it and agreed it was a great choice. We already had compliments from friends over at the house warming party and all were asking where we bought it. It really fits well over our hardwood floors and darker wood furniture. We bought a couple other rugs for other rooms from local stores and even at the same price and higher they are much thinner and of lower quality. We ended up returning all but one of those and will be probably buying more from Overstock in the near future.
