    • Hand-painted Ruby Accent Chest

      This chest arrives fully assembled and VERY well-packaged; it is supported by firm styrofoam blocks on both sides as well as thick styrofoam strips on the front, back and top. The drawers and tray are padded with foam strips which keep them closed during shipping. The chest is darker than shown in the pictures, it does not have the vibrant red color shown, but this was not a problem for me as I purchased it for a bedroom done primarily in a claret color. The wood color is less golden and more of a pecan color, leaning toward cherry, which also worked out quite well for me. I bought the chest for its functionality more than its form. The construction on this piece is nothing short of magnificent - every surface is finished, with the exception of the underside of the top, and I had to take out a drawer and use a flashlight to determine that. The roomy drawers glide smoothly on their tracks, the pull-out tray offers plenty of extra real estate and the hardware is solidly attached. While this piece is composed of MDF it is of exceptional quality; I have never seen a piece of furniture composed of MDF look this good, and I am NOT a fan of composite wood furniture by any means. I was prepared to be disappointed and I am delighted to say I was wrong. This piece is solid, heavy (the 80 pound weight description is dead-on!) and well worth the money. This piece is true to the listed dimensions - please be sure to read them when considering your purchase. It is exactly what the title says it is - an accent chest. It should not be confused with a chest of drawers, if you need more space this item probably is not for you. If you're looking for a more compact item to use for a lingerie chest or for other accessory items I give this item my highest recommendation

    • Pretty accent piece

      I purchased this chest to use as a side table in my livingroom and to hide craft supplies for my kids. The size is perfect for the space. The piece arrived within a few days of the order and there is no assembly required which was great. It was packed very well and it's very heavy . I had to wait for my husband to get home to unpack it and bring into the livingroom. There were a couple of small nicks on the side and leg, but a stain marker covered it right up. The flower detail is very pretty, but it is muted. The color is not red at all. I was hoping for a dark brownish red as the other reviews have said, but it is dark brown. It looks almost like a cherrywood color. The color matches my livingroom so it wasn't a problem for me. The drawers are on the shallow side, so if you're looking to store clothing in it, it is quite small. It works great for small things. Some reviews said the drawers stuck, but I didn't have that problem at all. They all glide open and closed very easily. Overall, I was very happy with the purchase. It is a very pretty piece and it serves the purpose for which I bought it. I've already received several compliments on it. It make a very nice accent piece in the room.

      This chest is very beautiful; however, the color is a muted burgundy instead of a bright ruby red as pictured. Other than the color not being what I wanted, I like the chest and have worked it into my decor.

      Beautiful piece of furniture, but not the same shades as in the picture, darker and somewhat gold instead of red, does not match the furniture where I wanted to put it but will look beautiful in the front room. Very well constructed with obvious pride in workmanship, Small piece of furniture but hierloom quality.

      This is a pretty little piece. The color is a little different than what is on the computer but I like it better. The color & details are much more subtle in person. My mom has the same piece but in black so I had an idea of what this was going to look like. The drawers roll smoothly & the piece arrived already put together.

    • Perfect Little Accent Piece!

      This little chest arrived in perfect condition and pretty much as pictured. The color is perhaps a little bit darker than shown on my computer screen (but remember that computer color can vary). It's very well made, and much less expensive than similar accent pieces that I priced locally. I'm very pleased with my purchase.
