This chest is great! I agree with other reviewers - the color is not red at all - brown with some ruby tint to it perhaps. I love it though. Looks sturdy, drawers work smoothly, the painted design is beautiful. Overstock's price was amazing and shipping was super fast. Great experience!

This cabinet is not even close to red--more like dark chocolate brown.

I knew to expect a darker color from others reviews. However it appears brown, dark brown with a dark top. If you shine a bright light on it you might see a hint or red. I wish it was closer to the color in the pictures. Disappointed.

I ordered this chest after reading all the reviews. It arrived in a timely manner. First off I will agree that the color is nothing like the photo,it's more of a maroon color almost brown. That was disappointing. then the drawers did not work at all. So we returned it and ordered another one. The next one came in just fine. No damage and it looks nice. We debated replacing it only because the color is not at all the same as the one in the picture. But it is very nice. very heavy as others stated. But it looks really nice. I rated it a bit lower just because of the color. Hope this helps.

The previous reviews helped me because the deep burgundy color was what I needed for my entry area. Overall, for the money, I thought it was a good purchase. The wood itself seemed quite inexpensive though and was crushed in a few very small areas. I was able to cover that with furniture stain. The pullout shelf is not very level so I'm not sure if I'll be able to use it. If I had to do it all over again I would have saved for a better built piece. I sound negative but I am recommending it for the price point it is. It will provide a lot of storage and no one else will notice the imperfections. I've already had compliments from dinner guests.

The delivery was very timely. The workmanship was excellent. I saw this piece at a locate store and it sold for almost $350.00 more. I love the chest!

Very lovely product, but it was a lot darker than the picture. The wood was in no sense blonde and/or ruby. It was more like dark wood and burgundy. I was disappointed on that end. It also had a few scratches. However, it is a good looking piece as it is.

Received my chest and it is perfect! I love the dark color it just matches my dining room furniture where I have placed it. All the drawers fit just right and I am very pleased with the value. Desk - Chest received in 4 days!

The cabinet was delivered in a few days by UPS. There was no paperwork to acknowledge receiving it. It visually appeared to be as represented in the picture on the web site. However, when you open the top drawer, there is a small dent, plus some paint missing on the lip of the drawer.

This is a well made chest, and I am pleased with the purchase. Like others have mentioned, the color in the picture is way off. Instead of red it is more of a brown. Still, I like the chest. Delivery was super fast - it was delivered in a couple of days. Overstock is great!

We ended up keeping the chest even though it was not really red in color but more like a deep plum. It is being used in a totally different area of our home, but we are getting used to seeing it. Unfortunately, I'm still trying to find a piece of furniture to replace it.

This chest is very beautiful; however, the color is a muted burgundy instead of a bright ruby red as pictured. Other than the color not being what I wanted, I like the chest and have worked it into my decor.

Even after reading the reviews before ordering this chest I was still surprised by how dark it was and think that because many customers have mentioned this a more realistic photo should be posted. My chest arrived in perfect condition with no damage, the drawers, however, were not in their correct slots and maybe this is why many people complained about their drawers sticking, you have to pay attention to the pattern and match it up correctly. Overall I am pleased with the look, value and especially the $2.95 shipping charge and for this reason would not return it even though the color is a little disappointing.

I FOUND THE CHEST TO BE JUST AS IT LOOKED ON-LINE. THE COLOR WAS A LITTLE BIT DARKER. LOOKS GREAT IN MY DINING ROOM. DID NOT HAVE TO ASSEMBLE. CAME COMPLETE.

Beautiful piece of furniture, but not the same shades as in the picture, darker and somewhat gold instead of red, does not match the furniture where I wanted to put it but will look beautiful in the front room. Very well constructed with obvious pride in workmanship, Small piece of furniture but hierloom quality.

I purchased this chest to use as a side table in my livingroom and to hide craft supplies for my kids. The size is perfect for the space. The piece arrived within a few days of the order and there is no assembly required which was great. It was packed very well and it's very heavy . I had to wait for my husband to get home to unpack it and bring into the livingroom. There were a couple of small nicks on the side and leg, but a stain marker covered it right up. The flower detail is very pretty, but it is muted. The color is not red at all. I was hoping for a dark brownish red as the other reviews have said, but it is dark brown. It looks almost like a cherrywood color. The color matches my livingroom so it wasn't a problem for me. The drawers are on the shallow side, so if you're looking to store clothing in it, it is quite small. It works great for small things. Some reviews said the drawers stuck, but I didn't have that problem at all. They all glide open and closed very easily. Overall, I was very happy with the purchase. It is a very pretty piece and it serves the purpose for which I bought it. I've already received several compliments on it. It make a very nice accent piece in the room.

This chest is lovely, and perfect for the guest room where I bought it to go in. I'm so glad we decided to order it. The packing was super and absolutely no flaws or problems with this piece at all.

They are exactly as I had hoped (I bought 2 because they are small). The drawers are not very deep but they slide easily and are perfect for my needs. The hand painting is beautiful but delicate. This item would not be good for kids.
