Hand-painted Onyx Accent Chest

Looked for weeks for a small cabinet that had the exact measurements I needed. Checked Overstock and there it was. It arrived in just two days, was packaged very well. My husband and I just unpacked it and placed it in the area we needed it; adjacent to my new white kitchen with bold black and natural stone counters. It looks wonderful. The drawers operate smoothly, there was a nick or two in the paint at the edge of one drawer but easy to fix. This was a great find! And no assembly. This item is well priced for the looks and functionality. The artwork on the front is very subtle and adds character to the piece. We are using it for a telephone and communication area near the kitchen, the storage it provides is great as well as the pull out for writing notes. Such accent pieces are so hard to find in retail stores. Thanks Overstock! Joyce

I received this beautiful chest in 5 days. After reading some of the reviews I was concerned about damage upon arrival. To my surprise it was very well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. It is just a beautiful little chest that arrived already assembled, drawers open and close smoothly, and the hand painting is very nicely done and not too bright. I love this chest so much I'm going to order another one and use them as night tables.

I ordered two chests. I was aware the accent painting was faint in color. There was a problem with the piece of wood between several drawers, which had cracks at the side panels. I had to putty and paint them to fill in. Some of the drawers on one chest are hard to pull. I will try to clean the roller tracks to see if it helps. I would send them back, but I do like the style and finish otherwise. I don't want the hassle of repacking. Otherwise the rest of the quality is nice the finish is nice too.

I just received this chest, it arrived fast (in 3 days). It is really sturdy and heavy. The hand painting is exquisite and gives it a classy look. I like that it came fully assembled. If you are on thinking about buying this then go for it! The price is very low for an item if such great quality. Thx Overstocks

The chest is pretty enough, although the quality of the workmanship is nothing to write home about. If I had been able to see and touch the piece in a store, I would have thought twice before buying it. We actually received two chests. The first one arrived so badly damaged in shipping that it was unacceptable. Overstock was terrific about the problem, offering to immediately send a replacement (which arrived within one week) and giving us the option to keep or return the damaged piece without additional cost. Overstock didn't require verification of the damage and were very, very cooperative and willing to make us satisfied. I would order again from Overstock because of the way they responded to the problem.
