Hand-painted Golden Honey and Celery Bombay Chest

I am very happy with this chest. It was packed very carefully and the finish is very pretty. It is quite compact and sturdy. I have a small second bedroom and this lends a unique touch to the room. The chest has pretty lines and is most attractive and cheerful in appearance. It is sturdy enough for a nice lamp, or even a TV. The 3 drawers can be used for storing extra linens or for guest use. I think it is a good buy.

I ordered this Bombay chest to use as a night stand in my daughters room. When I recieved it the bottom drawer was not functional. The roller on the drawer along with the guides had been bent and broken. I do not have a clue as to how this could have happened. The hardware to the chest was in a box in the bottom drawer and the drawer was jammed so maybe when they put the hardware in that drawer they forced it shut when infact the box with the hardware in it was too big for that drawer. I emailed Overstock about the situation and they immediately emailed me back and began a search from the warehouse for a replacement drawer. No replacement was found so I was offered to return the chest or to get a partial refund for the damage. I chose to get the partial refund due to the fact that I fixed the drawer to where it functioned properly and I had ordered a glass top for it. This chest is beatiful and I really wanted to keep it. Overstock gave me a more than fair partial refund immediately and a satisfied customer I am. I order periodically from Overstock and have always been satisfied.

This is a very nice piece, albeit a bit smaller than I wanted. I purchased it anyway and found its use for other things makes it a very wise purchase. Can go just about anywhere, and used for a nightstand, end table, end of the bed, etc; in pairs would be good, as well. I like that the allen wrench is included and anyone can assemble. The yellow seems more feminine to me than the other colors. Colors are muted. The paint finish seems ok. It did come packed very well and I did not notice damage. I feel this is a good price for a great item!

I bought the chest as an alternative to masculine TV consoles. It works beautifully. I put my cable, Internet, and wireless boxes on the chest, and it softens the harsh look of these items. I love the construction of the chest, and its soft coloring complements any decor.

The chest is very solid and easy to assemble. It does not have the colors that it shows on line-they are very muted. Mine had some peeling paint on the lower left side and a nick on the second drawer. The top drawer was very hard to open, after some jiggling back and forth I finally got it on the right track. Overall I am happy with the chest, decided to get another one because it looks good next to our bed. Hopefully it will not have the same problems!!!
