Thank you for your interest in the Hand-painted Black Finish Bombay Accent Chest and upon delivery the item will be assembled and in one piece and the weight rating on the drawers is not known at this time according to the manufacturer but I would say it is a hard wood piece but used in an antique setting so I would say that you wouldn't want to put in an excessive amount of weight to make sure it doesn't cause problems in the future.
