I find these pretty mediocre. I wanted somethign a little different to represent yin-yang in my display and I thought these would fit the bill. I like the smooth, almost lacquered feel. The details are actually carved out to exposed the wood underneath the painted finish.
Unlike the picture the side details are not different on the white vs black pieces. Both pieces had the side markings of the white piece above. The candles are nice, mine are two different colors, pink and orange.
If I saw these in person, I doubt I would have bought them, and I would have questioned whether to pay this price.
I purchased this item from my favorite online shopping site, Overstock.com, as a wedding gift. I did'nt go to the wedding, so I have this fantastic candle outfit all wrapped up, and ready to give for a birthday, or something. A very nice item, and allows a very positive energy flow.
