The desk arrived very quickly, well packed and in perfect condition. It's small but just what I needed for the entry space I bought it for. The dividers in the top of the desk are not great quality and I'm not using them, there's more usable storage space without them. Assembly was very easy; only had to attach the feet and turn the knobs around. I would definitely recommend it.

perfect for a corner or limited space; and use space wisely with the drawers as compared to a more traditional desk that has only open space below it. good wood--not like cheap veneer or compressed wood.

I know this desk was suppose to be small-ish but this desk is beyond small. I am not comfortable with putting anything in the drop down as it has fallen over several times. Very disappointing but very beautiful. Wouldn't buy again and wouldn't recommend.

This secretary is adorable. It's just what I was looking for. I wanted something to organize/hide my clutter and paper work but still be attractive and not take over the room. The carvings are just as beautiful in person as they are in the picture. The finish is rich-looking and but not glossy. It even smells good - like cedar. You should know that it isn't very big - check out the dimensions. The top "shelf" is only a few inches wide so you can't really put anything on it. The filing cabinet is what I was looking for the most in a secretary. The bottom drawer pulls out and there are 2 metal pieces for hanging folders that run front to back not side to side. It fits all my papers nicely. Overstock was the best price online and it was shipped to me quickly.

I purchased this for my husband after banishing his large rolltop desk to one of the bedrooms. It has the cubbies and organizational elements he loved, but is a size that does not overwhelm the space in the den. In fact, it basically hides in the corner behind a chair. There was only one nick on the bottom of the secretary, not visable at all; I am not sure I would call what we did as 'assembly' because it only consisted of screwing on the feet and moving the knobs from the inside of the drawers to the outside.It is just the thing for keeping a few bills and papers organized and available in a public area of the house.

The dimensions were exactly what I needed. The quality was described as I saw it and it serves my purpose well. I was most pleased with the chest. I recommend it highly.

I have had this desk now for a little over a year (I think). I really like it and had been looking for a secretaries desk for a while before purchasing this one. The wood is nice. There was very little assembly required. The wood is the color pictured on the site. My only complaint is that the drawers were somewhat shallow (well the top drawer). The bottom drawer is somewhat deep, but it isn't very wide at all. Also the top drawer isn't on a track. It just pushes in and pulls out. It seems a bit off sometimes, but it's not enough to really complain about considering how nice a piece it is. I would recommend anyone who puts anything heavy in it to mount it to the wall, especially if it's sitting on carpet, because it can be a bit wobbly on this kind of a surface. But all in all, a beautiful piece, nice, heavy and has very pretty carvings on it. Worth the money in my opinion.

The first one arrived falling apart and the second one arrive undamaged but is so cheaplymade it hardly stand up on its legs.

I love this secretary. Expensive looking for a small price. The size was perfect for the space I had and it appears to be made well. The only thing you need to assemble is putting on the feet and knobs. great buy.

I bought the desk for my husband for christmas. It did not have as much storage as we would have liked, but all in all it it matched the description to a T. We had to buy another cabinet to put in the stuff it would not hold.

I bought this desk for my daughter to have a place to do homework in her room. Since we have limited space the small measurement was a perfect fit. She uses the shelves to store her supplies and loves the pretty floral design carved into the front. Overall a purchase I am happy with and hope will last for many years to come.

was much much smaller than it seems online. as there were no dimensions in the description (that i could find) i was very dissappointed when it arrived and was only half the size i was expecting. cute piece of furniture though.

Good thing the desk was packaged really well. The box had been torn open down a whole side and taped shut. Luckily the desk was undamaged. Overstock needs to reconsider what company they use for shipping. We did have to go purchase new screws to put two of the knobs on as the ones included were not long enough due to the countersink was drilled on the outside instead of the inside. At least the knobs cover the mistake. Overall, the desk was what we expected after reading the description and the reviews.

I have 2 of these, one on each side of my foyer. Great for keys, mail, purse, cash for the paper boy, etc. They include a file drawer in the bottom section, which requires a screw to attach desk to the wall, so they don't tip from the weight of the open file drawer. The screws are included as well as a secretary compartment divider for the upper section. The carving is not HAND carving, but for the price, it's quite nice. Beautiful finish. No complaints at all.

I was very disappointed in the quality of this desk. If it would be an easy porcess, I would return it. I like the look of the desk, but upon close inspection you can see that it is not completely solid wood. It is very lightweight in construction, about 50% of it is veneer. I am also disappointed because there are 3 blemishes on the desk, (as well as several smaller places). One is on the face of the bottom drawer, (fairly noticeable, not just a blemish, there is a chunk taken out of the wood and you can see where they repaired it). The one significant defect is on the inside of the drop down. On the desk portion there is a crack in the wood/veneer, it goes all the way across the desk top inside. You can see that they repaired it, but it is noticeable. On the plus side, it is a nice looking desk, fits my apartment nicely, but because of its size is not functional desk. Good place to store my bills and files though. I would not recommend this, not a good value for the price.

Small --- i needed it for my kitchen, it almost serves the purpose. Cannot use it as a regular everyday writing desk.....much too small space for that.

I'd watched this item for months, read the reviews and searched internet. Many sites had this except model (including Walmart) for $200+ I had seen the dimensions so I realized that it was small. But it is an excellent buy. I was able to place my laptop in the pulldown section without fear of it falling over, with just a few files in the filing section. It has given me a quick way of covering up the bedroom clutter by just closing the lid. I did cut out a small slit on the back board/. Which is actually wood, not cardboard! and the laptop a 17 model fit great. I use it in place of a night stand and I'm able to check internet first thing in the morning. the wood is nice, a few 'blemishes were repaired quickly. It was 5 minutes from box to beside my bed. It's a winner and at a price you can't beat! I know that this piece will bear up to moviong and will be with me for years to come! Something that I can't say even about expensive furniture.
