I read the other reviews and even looked at the dimensions before buying. However, it still seemed smaller than I expected it to be. Other than that, the bench is nice...it is solid and well made.
THIS BENCH IS VERY PRETTY WOOD, NICLY FINISHED, BUT IS VERY SMALL. IT LOOKS LIKE A LITTLE CHILDS BENCH. I HAD NO IDEA IT WOULD BE SO SMALL. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED.
What a gorgeous piece of craftsmanship!!! Love this to bits. The painstaking detail, the finish, the majestic appearance -I could go on and on....Add to it the fact that its a little cheaper than the hundreds of other websites that are selling this.In one word, go for this.
Easy to assemble. Beautiful piece. We get many complements on it. My 5 year old helped me to put it together and it is fairly study. The legs scratch our floor so you will need to put something on the bottem as it is not included in the kit. Thanks Overstock!
When I first opened the box, I found a little bit of damage to the storage bench and I contacted Overstock.com about it. It was a very pleasant experience. Customer service was excellent in handling my problem. They arranged for a replacement to be sent to me free of charge and that one arrived pretty quickly (less than a week). The bench was pretty easy to put together...a matter of screwing in the back, arms and legs to the seat bench. Took me half an hour to assemble it by myself. Everything I needed was in the box. The bench is made of solid wood and looks nice in our entryway. The handcarving is very detailed and really adds to the look of the bench. It provides a good place for storage for my kids' mittens, hats and shoes. I've had the bench for only a couple of weeks so I don't know how durable it is. I only wish the storage compartment was a little deeper so I can put in more stuff. But overall, my husband and I really like this bench and the price was great, too.
