Hand-carved Cat Bookends

I ordered these bookends for a friend who LOVES cats and owns many books. She has a lot of dark, antique wood furniture and accessories in her home, so I thought these would blend well with her decor. The color is not quite as pictured. I imagined the body of the cats to be a deep brown with hints of red (like mahogany). Instead, they looked more like a medium-dark oak. The ears, tail and face are painted reasonably well. However, I felt like I could find the same product on the streets of any big city Chinatown for less money. Overall, the product is nice, but not what I expected. I thought the bookends would be more unique and classy than they are. I'm slightly disappointed, but not enough to return them.

These bookends are very cute! The greatest thing about them is that they are not exactly alike, as most bookends are. There is enough difference in the color and carving of the wood to make them quite interesting. I would recommend these for any cat lover.

They do not weigh very much and look cheap when you look at them closely, very light weight. Couldn't hold many books. Would of sent this item back ,if it was easier to do.Very disappointed.in the quality and craftsmenship, not what I expected.

I love cats and originally bought these bookends for my office. But the wood is so beautiful and the hand-carved features are much too attractive to "hide" in my office. I am installing a fireplace in my living room and these book ends will hold a place on my new mantle.

The hand-carved cat bookends are lightweight; therefore are not appropriate to support heavier books. They are fine for a few paperbacks, or other lightweight reading materials. The crafting of the pieces is fairly detailed, and the cats depicted are quite cute. Attention is given to facial expression, and I like the colors. I currently use the bookends for paper cookbooklets, but I bet they would be great for CD's/DVD's, too. Overall, I am pleased with my kitty bookends, and would purchase again.
