The fabric is rough, just like a rug, as expected. Cushion seems a little uneven after having sat on it once, that doesn't bode well...Still. I really like this piece and am glad I got it Legs screwed in, all wood threads into wood block, feels very primitive. The wood on the legs has a clear finish so legs look how the tree looked. Three of the legs on my bench are very white, as pictured, and one is very dark where there was a knot in the wood. I guess this is to be expected. Still trying to decide if it gives the piece character or if it gives me heartburn. Still, I'm going to keep it. and overall I'm pleased.
