Much better than the 'generic' ones

    Jul 12, 2014

    brental1  from Birmingham, AL, Rating:5.0

I first borrowed a generic tool from a friend. The pipe would not stay stationary in the vice part, regardless of how much I tightened the screws. The Ridgid tool really did the job. Pipe did not slide at all, and it made perfect flares.

    A Garden Classic!

    Jul 8, 2014

I love these Felco #2 pruners. I had a pair previously and had misplaced them. Of course the day after I ordered these I found my first pair. But alas, I had left them out in the elements and they were rusted. I cleaned them up and oiled them but am very happy to have the new pair also. They work great. These are expensive compared to cheaper choices but they are a classic garden workhorse. Still made in Switzerland with the Swiss precision and workmanship. These are worth having and for sure worth the price. By the way, the price on overstock was quite fair compared to some of the gardening sites that charged ** more for the same product. Buy from overstock.

  • safety to the extreme

    Jul 5, 2014

These box cutters have a plastic sleeve for safety, true, but it makes it very difficult to cut the boxes. You also have to hold the button up the whole time to make it come out to cut at all. Your finger or thumb, whichever you choose to use, gets very sore holding it up the whole time you're cutting the box. Either I didn't do it correctly or something isn't right with those things. It's not like it comes with directions or anything, naturally. So I wouldn't recommend purchasing this set.

These are great for a multitude of cutting and nipping tasks everything from trimmer string to small gauge wire. Great for pesky cable ties. When the cutting surfaces get nicked or blunt touch up with a small file and it will last for years.
