This stand is really big and stands out like a piece of art in my back yard. It was a little tough to assemble by myself but I did it. I would definitely recommend getting a neighbor or friend to help with the assembly though. It took me about 45 minutes to assemble but if I had a friend I think it would have gone much quicker. The only con I see to this stand is that it is made for shorter hammock lengths. The hooks are only about 10 feet apart but all I did was wrap my hammock around the hanging bar on both ends and my 13 ft hammock fits great onto it. I actually like wrapping the hammock because it makes the hammock more stable and easier to get into and out of. Really a great stand for the money. Good construction and very unique and innovative! I've never seen anything like it before! It took a little jimmy rigging to get the hammock to hang perfect but really a beautiful and functional stand. Thanks Overstock!
The one good thing I can say about this stand is it looks great. I get lots of compliments on the shape. But the quality is poor. After putting it together which was fairly simple we realized our 13ft hammock does not fit which is should have according to the description. It is too large and we like other reviewers had to wrap our hammock strings around several times to keep the 13ft hammock off the ground. The downside of this is after one summer of "rocking" in our hammock the strings wrapped so tight around the wood to make it fit started to fray from the tension. Now my very expensive hammock has to be repaired. Our second problem was the wood began to split within weeks of being put together. None of the wood has completely cracked through as of yet but the cracks have continued to get larger and will eventually crack. This is just not a well made piece of outdoor furniture. I would never buy this again and would have returned it in hind site.
This hammock stand broke within a week of getting it. The middle piece cracked in half for about a foot length of the piece. We've glued it together for now. Some of the hardware didn't fit (the threads were messed up on 2 of the bolts) & I ended up spending additional money at the hardware store to finish putting the stand together. The stand looks cool, but the wood we received was cracked in different placed on a few of the pieces, so I'm sure they'll be breaking also. If you're paying over $300 for a stand, you'd think it'd at least be built to last. Not so true in our case.
The bow was too short to hang a 13 foot hammock (although it should be long enough), I had to shorten the hammock twice by re-tying the knots to enable it to fit, but still not perfect
