I purchased this as a gift for my wife. She has a smaller slow cooker but for full size recipes, it was just not large enough. Graduations in the crock allow for smaller recipes to be better estimated and different settings allow the cooker to adjust the speed of cooking. My wife is already a great cook. This cooker allows her flexibility to make larger recipes, like Beef Vegetable Soup which she has in it now, or smaller recipes like Chicken Fajitas, using one, simple but flexible cooker!
