I ordered this blender because I thought the blue light was so cool. Wrong reason to make a decision. I used the blender once and it performed adequately. The second time I used it several weeks later, it performed adequately. The third time I went to use, it did not work at all. All lights lit up; but, the blender would just not turn on. I tried to call Hamilton Beach three times and the hold time was so long I could never get through. I finally gave up. Yesterday, I decided to take the thing apart to see what was wrong. Lots of electronic stuff inside with one telltale sign. The circuit board was browned out as if it had overheated. I only made frozen daquiris in the the blender. What good is a blender that can't handle that? Blender is now in the trash and I will never buy another Hamilton Beach product.

This is a nice blender it does good work. My kid loves the blue light I think more than the blender itself. LOL

These is a great blender for the price and is pretty modern and stylish too! Great motor, no problems thus far and it's been a few months.

Like the title says, it's that fast! I demoed smoothies a few months ago at a leading store and the frozen fruit just sat on the bottom of the blender. I tried to make the same smoothie at home, and the same results - - - nada, zilch! Then I ordered this amazing blender from Overstock, and it worked so fast, I had to see for myself if the frozen fruit had done anythying, it was all smooth and creamy, that fast, about 3 seconds on high speed. I am so pleased with this, I will give this as house warming gifts and wedding gifts. The ONLY thing I can say on a not so high note is the base of the glass is made of plastic, but good plastic. I hoped for metal. I'lll be the only one using this, so it shouldn't break or crack. Buy it, you won't be dissappointed. Oh, by the way, it's so easy to use, you don't really have to read the instruction book. It has a slick design with a lighted base (blue light) AND it is very easy to dissasemble and clean.

I haven't owned a blender in years...the last one was a hand me down from my dad, an old Oster. I think the Hamilton Beach Blu blender is easy to work, looks modern & really fabulous in my new black applianced (with stainless accents) kitchen. I've used it to make smoothies & crush nuts so far. Worked well at both. The glass is nice & heavy so you don't have to worry about the cannister breaking! You do have to make sure the cannister is seated & screwed properly into the base, otherwise it will leak...but making sure it's seated it pretty obvious/straight forward. I purchased the 2 year warranty, figured for an extra couple of bucks I'd have piece of mind. Even with the warranty the Blu is still competatively priced!! I'm enjoying using my new blender & would recommend it to others.

I love this blender. My main use is to make smoothies using frozen fruit, and this blender works awesome for this purpose. I also like the fact that I can take the container apart for cleaning. I did have an initial problem with leaking but was able to get the base on securely and now...not more leaking.

It was so hard to find a blender with more than 500 watts in the retail stores, so when I found this one I knew I had to have it. I'm a hardcore blender-user and this blender is really living up to my expectations. Most of the things I blend are frozen and I add a little water to make it easy for the stuff to actually move around and this blender hasn't given me any problems. I've had it for about six weeks and have used it about ten times. Each time I've used it I've needed to reduce several things to an indistinguishable purée and each time the operation went off without a hitch. I'm so glad I resisted the items that were in the stores and got this instead.On another note, there is an ambient light at the bottom of this aesthetically beautiful appliance that stays on when the power is set to off. I unplug the blender when I'm finished with it in order to save electricity.

I love this blender. It works very well for my smoothies, and it looks great!

the glass is a little heavy, but overall I am happy with the blender.
