works just fine and was delivered faster then I could have gotten it locallyRead More
I live in a single wide mobil home and bought this unit to replace my 10500 BTU GE unit I purchased 2 years ago from Walmart. The GE unit never worked as good as this Haier, it doesn't have as many BTU's, they screwed me on the 4 year warranty I bought, and it's seriously 3 times as large and twice as heavy as the Haier unit I just got 3 weeks ago. When I seen the Haier I thought it was going to be super huge and heavy like the GE (maybe bigger) because it's more BTU's but the weird part is its way small and blows way harder colder air then the GE ever did!! The front size is the same as the GE but it's not as long meaning it doesn't stick 2 feet out the window and it drains perfect. I haven't even permanetly installed it into the wall yet and sealed it. It's been so hot hear (94-100) for the last 3 weeks I just couldn't take the crappy GE not cooling my small living room only, I have blankets covering the hall to keep the cold air in one room and it still didn't work. This Haier Monster COLD air blower actually cools the entire trailer!! It's the first AC unit I've ever had in this trailer that can keep the entire trailer at 70-73 in the middle of wicked summer heat and it uses half the power of a normal one because its energy efficient!! This thing is a win win all around so far. I'm sure it will work even better when I permanetly seal it into the wall and have it correctly mounted up a little higher and stuff but for now its like having central air. (Well it should be for the price right) So, buy this if your having a hard time cooling your place. I was very very IFFY about spending $$$ on an AC unit + warranty that wasn't a brand name I recognized until I went to my brothers small 2 bedroom 1 story home and his whole house was being cooled from the Hair 6,000 BTU $$$ version. It felt like he had central air! So I bought the biggest one they had and boy am I glad I did. I left the cooler set at its coldest setting on accident for the night a few nights ago. Even though it was still 85 hot and humid outside all night the thermostat for my furnace read 64 degrees throughout my entire place!! Yeah I woke up a pop cicle thinking I messed up and forgot to turn it to 70 and ruined it. Went outside to thaw out and couldn't believe it was still sweltering and humid out, but refrigerator cold inside my place. There is nothing like sleeping in a nice cool room!!! Thanks for reading!!Read More

FAQs about Window Air Conditioners
Window air conditioners can be a life saver in the summer months. They provide a comfortable escape from the hot outside temperatures. Window air conditioners are especially helpful in reducing heat-related health issues and making sleep more restful.
How to Install Window Air Conditioners
You can beat the heat without sending your air conditioning bills through the roof. One way is to cool an individual room with a window air conditioner, instead of the entire house, and make it a cool retreat. Air conditioners and heaters can be used to control temperature in a single room without adjusting your home's main thermostat. Most window air conditioners are built for single-hung, double-hung and side-sliding windows. So, you'll need to select an air conditioner unit that fits your window type. These steps will help you to install your window air conditioner properly.
Common Questions about Window Air Conditioners
A great way to beat the heat is by installing a window air conditioner in your home or office. Using individual air conditioners and heaters in your home can take the load off of your central heating and air conditioning system, providing you with significant energy savings over the course of a year. Here are some frequently asked questions about window air conditioners and how you can use them in your home.
Air Conditioner Air Filter Fact Sheet
Your air conditioner operates by drawing in air, cooling it and then releasing it into your living area. Whether you use a portable air conditioner or a window unit or you have central air conditioning, your air filters will need to be periodically checked and changed. After a while, airborne dust, debris, pollen and other particles may clog your air filters. A clogged air filter forces air conditioners and heaters to work harder and may result in higher energy costs. Dirty or damaged air filters may also shorten the life of your air conditioner. Here are a few facts about air-conditioner air filters help you get the most out of your air conditioner.
Where to Use a Portable Air Conditioner
You can beat the heat without sending your air conditioning costs through the roof. Just use a portable air conditioner to keep areas of your home cool. Air conditioners work by using either evaporative cooling or refrigerant compressors to cool air. Instead of cooling the entire house, a small, portable air conditioner cools the room you're in at the moment. Even if you have a central air conditioner for your home, you can still benefit from using portable air conditioners.
How Air Conditioners Work
Keeping cool is an essential part of life during the hot summer months, and the right air conditioner will not only make you more comfortable; it can save you money. Knowing how air conditioners work can help you choose the right unit for your abode; size, circulation, power and filters all factor into your decision.
FAQs about Portable Air Conditioners
On a scorching summer day, portable air conditioners can make your room a refuge from the heat. Whether you are short on space, need a little extra cooling in a problem area or just want to keep your personal space at a constant, cool temperature, portable air conditioners are the solution to all your summer woes. Unlike a window air conditioner that needs to be attached to a window or central air conditioners that can sometimes struggle to reach each corner of the house, portable air conditioners can follow you anywhere in the home. Room air conditioners are relatively easy to use, but here are a few common questions to help you use them efficiently.
How to Use a Portable Air Conditioner
