My allergist recommended I get a HEPA air cleaner, and he may be able to get me off my meds. Ha! I thought. He recommended not spending alot of money, and someone from his office had found a good deal on Overstock.com. I got this machine within a few days, set it up, and within 12 hours, could tell a difference. I am off all my meds, can sleep on my back again, and feel so much better! It is fairly small, and quiet. With the wood like cover, it does not look ugly in my dining room.
I had been using small room purifiers from 7 years ago. Realized that I needed to upgrade (new place is more open) & did some research & found these. Bought 2 with one in the living room & one in the bedroom. They are so so quiet, even on the hightest settings, they barely hum. I only gave it 4 stars for durability as I haven't had them that long so I don't know exactly how durable they are. They are beautiful & no one realizes that they are purifiers. The UV filter does emit a soft blue light. Not noticeable in the living room but my bedroom has blackout curtains so it's very dark which makes the glow slightly more noticeable. Doesn't bother me when I'm falling asleep so I don't find it a problem, just mentioning it in case some one is very light sensitive. Over all I am quite happy with them.
It is handsome, unobtrusive both to the eye and the ear, solid, and effective. What more can I say?
Just amazing; my home is in the Desert, Southwest. It's always dusty. When the write up for this machine said it could clear 3,000 sf. I thought, you're kidding. My house is only 1200 sf. So I'm thinking it's got to be huge, since there were no real measurements in the write up. So imagine my surprise, when this small, but compact, attractive air purifier showes up. I took it out and said, NO WAY. THEY MUST HAVE MEANT 300 SF. Well, so far, it's worked beautifully, infact, at some point I actually smelled "fresh air"; not easy to do in Scottsdale in the summer, when it's 115 degrees and humid. My son and I both smoke, and it's kept the house clear and fairly clean, considering all the dust and smoke it's up against. I think 1 more will probably do the trick, though, because I know it's not as efficient trying to do the "whole house" without some more help. Thanks Overstock.com, this also helps with my allergies, which I "acquired" after moving here....lol
