    The steamer portion of this works great, the vacuum does not pick up at all. I still have to sweep before or after I use this or else there are things left on the floor. Just buy a steamer for less money and don't waste money on this if you want something that steams and sweeps at the same time.

    This is the answer to your prayers for hardwood floors. Solves all problems. However, do not leave it on even if you have the plastic mechanism in place. It will ruin the stain on the floor if you aren't moving it. I bought a rug to place it on and all is wonderful. This is my favorite cleaning item by far...go for it!
