portable bug zapper
 Oct 12, 2008

Hello, Note: Zapper was connected to power to charge the battery 7 hours before switched on. 1. Idea is good. 2. Workmanship is poor. 3. When switched on without connecting to power source the zapper remained dead. 4. When switched on and connected to power source the zapper continually zapped. Close inspection showed the terminal end of the grid was too close to another wire of the grid. Using due care I was able to seperate that end from the other wire. Zapper now works properly when connected to power. 5. No instructions on how to replace battery. I have yet to open the battery compartment and determine if the zapper was shipped without a battery, the battery is bad, the switch is bad, or if there is a loose connection. My next step. I will need to experiment. jerezano

Grip Rechargeable Bug Zapper
 from wisconsin,  Jul 19, 2008

I think its a great value ,and durable . I put the bug zapper about 12 feet away from where I was sitting and the bugs went to the light and not me. I was with a group of people and they were amazed at how it worked because we were sitting without the bug zapper and the bugs were all over us and after very few if any.

Bugs are still alive!
 from CA,  Jun 24, 2007

Easy to charge and use, light works more than a complete night. I tried the Bug Zapper indoor and outdoor. The only bugs that got killed were very small inoffensive ones some even got up to the blue light without being killed by the intermediate grid! So far it did not eliminate either mosquitoes, wasps or flies. If you eat anything bugs will go to your plate, undisturbed, unattracted by the light! I do not understand the utility of that "zapper".

bug zapper
 from florida,  Jun 23, 2007

I live in florida and have a lot of annoying flying insects that get into my screened in area. I charged this item and sat it in on a table near where the insects fly around a lot and this zapper didn't do anything at all. Then I tried just plugging it in an AC outlet, thinking the zapper wasn't charged enough...but still nothing happened at all....No bug zapping to any degree....even left it out overnight.......very disappointed.

Stress saver
from Las Vegas, NV,  Jun 9, 2007

Wasn't upset when a few flies decided to take up residence in my kitchen. Overnight they seemed to multiply, so I went to my favorite site (O, of course) to see what could help. I found this particular bug zapper and after a little research, I learned that not only was the price exceptional, but that it was COMPLETELY safe to use INDOORS. It seemed to charge immediately and was thrilled to see it would hold a charge for 18hrs.

This zapper works....
from Poconos, PA,  Jun 8, 2007

I bought this without having much confidence in the efficiency of bug zappers overall. But this little zapper has changed my mind. I live in a woodsy area where there are lots of bugs. With this little zapper on my deck, I've been able to enjoy sitting outdoors in the early evenings without being eaten alive.

Waste of Money
from Garner, NC,  May 30, 2007

I purchased this last year and it didn't zap any bugs, nor could I find the "Bug Tray" it advertises. All it does is attract bugs and get them stuck inside where you can't get them back out again.

Bug Zapper works, but poorly made
 from Misquitoville,  Mar 24, 2007

This Bug Zapper works well, but is very poorly built. It is made of cheap, non-industrial plastic. which is unfortunate for an item that is designed for "outdoor use." The fact that it is cordless and rechargeable is great, but I don't expect it to last much longer. We have lightly used this item for one season, and I would not purchase this product if I had physically seen it in a store.

Zap Those Bugs
from Las Vegas, NV,  Sep 16, 2006

This is a great product, especially for the price. It looks nice, and the cordless feature is wonderful. I just wish the charge lasted longer.
