I have a Natural Gas line to my deck where I want to put this. I know it works with Liquid Propane but does it work with a Natural Gas hookup? Propane BBQ grills will not work on Natural Gas lines. Is it the same with this product?

Poorly packaged, damaged in shipment (twice) The item is exactly as it appears in the product page, but the packaging is wholly inadequate for the shipping method. The long journey of ground shipping has take its toll on two of these fiberglass fire tables, ordered separately by a neighbor and myself just a week apart. Both of our shipments arrived severely damaged with cracks, chips and chunks missing in the fiberglass structure. There's one hole that's about 3" in diameter where the propane tank fitting punched through the side of my fire table, presumably because the package is over 100 lbs. and dropped on that side. There's only thin cardboard and a small amount of styrofoam surrounding the fire table, and it only take a few small bumps to damage something. Easy to see why a cross-country ground transport left mine in shambles. Unfortunately, this thing is so heavy and unwieldy that it makes no sense to packaging it up again and ship it back. Love it! The fire table was exactly what we hoped for with the exception of the placement of the propane tank. When we called Overstock they confirmed that the tank would be hidden under the table, but we were surprised to hear that when we took a look at the measurements. One of the reasons we liked the fire table so much was that it was nice and low - we would be able to put our feet up on the edge and enjoy the heat - but the table was too low for the tank. There is a line that allows us to hide the tank next to a chair. Love the heat and the look of the table!

Is there a gas bottle underneath the table or does it have to be hooked up to a gas line? Also, can one order a lid and if not, can the table be in an open area with no shelter from the elements?

Hello Sheri, the propane tank does go inside the gas fire table. According to the Use and Care manual, the firebowl should be disconnected from the propane tank and stored in a cool dry area, away from direct sunlight. It does not come with a lid. Thank you for shopping with us.
