Like the other reviewers have mentioned, this TV stand is not made with the best materials but mine arrived safely and without damage. It's definitely sturdy enough to hold my TV, DVD player, hubby's game system, and some picture frames and candles. There's a bunch of assembly required which I also expected. It looks great, very modern!

My first shipment was "discarded" by UPS for damage. Overstock shipped a 2nd one. At first glance it seemed ok despite damage to the box. However, when I got to the top slab, which is packed on the bottom, it has giant cracks running the length of it. Overstock told UPS it was damaged again so now UPS has 10 days to inspect it or pick it up. The piece itself is made of particle board but not the smooth MDF type more like rough plywood that's an inch plus thick. I can imagine it swells over time in humid climates as another reviewer stated. The real issue is the packing and shipping damage. Cheap furniture like this can't be moved much as it is so when it comes rode hard and put away wet it's almost like pre-used and will be more fragile sooner. I don't know. A bargain piece of furniture shouldn't take 3-4 weeks of waiting. If you need something soon, this is maybe not the right pick.
When I buy furniture the most important is to be useful and practical. This TV stand has enough shelves and drawers for all the cables and accessories and it has a solid and stable construction. Could not find better quality for this low price. And even my wife loves the design and look.
I am very pleased with this product. The description and pictures are very accurate. We had to replace our previous TV stand because the glass on it shattered out of the blue. I purchase from Overstock pretty frequently and decided to check out their selection. Not only did they have a larger selection than any furniture store in our area, but their prices were very reasonable. We received it very quickly and everything was intact. The box was not damaged and it was packaged well in my opinion. All the parts were present. The directions weren't the best, but my husband put it together in about an hour. We've had it now for almost a month and it is very sturdy and I loved the color and style. It was just what I was looking for. I love Overstock!

I love our TV stand. It's a great alternative to mounting a really large TV. The sliding glass doors are awesome because it give easy access to all of the misc components that you normally house with the TV. The glass panels makes for easy reception by the remotes and you can hide all of the wiring inside. The color is perfect for our modern family room and the product itself is great quality. The box is really heavy but the unit is very well protected during shipping.

This looks good, but isn't terribly well made. We were missing an important screw for one of the drawers, but otherwise all the pieces were in the box. The sliding doors stick a little, and the drawers to too. For the price, it's fine, and it does the job.
The stand itself seems to be very sturdy. It has no problem holding my older 67" flat screen, weighing in at approximately 70 lbs. However, the top plastic rail for the sliding doors was damaged in transit. The doors are still functional, but the broken rail hangs down when the door is not completely closed.
I purchased this stand 2.5 years ago. The doors were a bit scuffed from shipping (mostly fixed by a wood stain pen) and one of the drawers was defective (wood glue fixed the joint), however II never contacted the company and I assume that it not normally a factor for this product. The quality on this is much lower than I was expecting from the start. It is fiberboard with a thin veneer and most of the panels feel a bit flimsy. When you feel it you can clearly tell that it is not solid wood (I have other furniture that also has stains/veneer over MDF that feels much more solid than this). However, for the size I was still pretty happy with the purchase. One year ago I moved and got a TV that actually rested on the stand (before I had this below a wall-mount TV). The stand held up reasonably well during the move considering the quality of the wood. However, after a couple of weeks I noticed that it was harder to slide the glass doors. At this point I can only slide them about 4 inches before they get stuck. The reason is that the weight of the TV has caused a sag in the middle of the stand (only noticeable if you are looking for it). My TV is a new 55" flat screen so any TV stand should be able to accommodate it. I am going to remove the doors and throw them out (the one saving grace is that it is very easy to take the doors off). I will still keep the stand at this apartment but it will not be coming with me the next time I move. If you are ok with the low quality then I would still consider this a reasonably good item since the price is so low. Also, I live in a year round humid climate so maybe it would hold up better in a drier area. It is definitely a step below the quality that I prefer to purchase thou. I would recommend saving up to buy something nicer that will last you more than a few years.
Bought this TV stand because of the modern look at the affordable price. I figured it was going to be better than an IKEA piece that are usually pretty flimsy. Its been in our living room for two months now and it really is an awesome addition to the space. Its pretty sleek with the dark finish and sliding glass doors and its perfect height if you're not looking to strain your neck while enjoying a movie. We inserted an additional hole in the backboard piece to allow for other electronics, due to the only hole being located in the middle of the backboard. All in all it's a good setup.
This was definitely not easy to put together but once it was assembled, I couldn't believe the price I paid. It looks like it's three times the price that it actually is. I guess if you purchased it in a store, assembled, it would cost much more. I love the quality of everything I have purchased on overstock so far. I read reviews and the items are always meet my expectations. This is one of my favorite purchases. I put it in my teenage son's room.
Once assembled this looks fine and certainly looks as if you'd paid double or more for it. It is a HEAVY piece of furniture despite the particleboard construction....keep this in mind since UPS delivers it to your doorstep but it weighs 70-80 lbs or more and that can be a challenge! Speaking of challenges....assembly is a prime one....you need to be slow and methodical and have a good grasp of the construction process since it is hard to follow the poor instructions. Keep all the fasteners in a bowl together so you can keep track and go along carefully (recognize that you'll need another pair of arms to assemble the top to the frame if you don't want damage) and you should get it done in 1 1/2 - 2 hrs along with the appropriate curse words! The only other drawback is that there is a center hole for wires in the middle....none of the spaces behind the doors allow for connections so if you have lots of components you'll have to make holes in the back to accomodate them. After all that...I love the way it looks and it is certainly large enough for a 60 or 65 in flat screen. It makes a statement in my living room that pleases me and all who see it.
It's really a beautiful piece of furniture and while the picture drawing setup instructions could be better, specifically the letter stampings on the furniture are unclear, it's a relatively straight forward to put together, although as usual you need a very large carpeted space to lay out all the pieces and be very, very careful with distinguishing left and right pieces, for example. Holds my 65 inch flat screen at the perfect height. The disappointing and deal-breaker aspect of this piece is that the side cabinets are simply one-quarter inch too narrow to accept standard size a/v components. Astounding. The PS3 will fit, but not the FIOS set top box, nor an a/v receiver, or any other standard size a/v component. And all by less than one-quarter inch. So for holding A/V components which you would want to connect to your flat screen, it's absolutely not what you want to buy. And of course after it's assembled, there's really no way to return the unit, so I'm stuck. And quite stupidly, there is only a center hole in the middle compartment through which to pass power cables and HDMI cables, etc. So although my PS3 will fit in the side compartment, until I can drill a cutout in the rear panel, there's no way to run cables to the TV or A/V receiver. Stupid is what stupid does.
I received this table and love it! It came in perfect condition and is very sturdy and good quality. It did take us about 3 hours to get it put together, so I wish assembling would've been less complicated but it's worth it. We have a 70 inch TV on it that holds it with no problem plus room for gaming consoles. I highly recommend this!
This product is not solid wood or top of the line. It looks good and seems strong enough to withstand young children. We use it as an entertainment piece below a mounted 70 inch tv. It looks fantastic and the color is espresso. You get what you pay for. Will serve purpose with style until kids are older.
