The product looks great however it needsa a separate ac outlet for the led lights. would have beed nice to have the factory slice this since I had to run another extention. Also I added some small stones in the base to offset the splashing when the water makes its final drop into the bin, do not see how in an indoor enviroment flooring could be damaged from excessive water overspray. Other than that we love the look on our patio especially at night with the led lighting, very relaxing and elegant!!
Love the fountain. If you don't have an idea on how it should go together the instructions stink. I figured out what they meant so didn't have to call their help line. The wires for the lights are a little long and stick up slightly from the cups that hold the water, so it detracts somewhat from the overall look.
We love this fountain. The sound of the water as it drops from bowl to bowl is beautiful. We had a fountain previously that the water just ran down the front & you could not hear much of a sound. This one is really beautiful. We also like the fact that you can see it from both sides. We have the fountain in front of our patio window so we can see it from inside & outside the house. If you get this fountain, you will not be disappointed!
One the pro side...The quality of the 'plastic' is very good. From reasonably close you can't tell that it isn't some kind of stone or concrete. The finish is a matte, antiqued, faux look and has some nice highlights in spots that make it look like it has a real patina. The sound is not too delicate and it definitely sounds like water running. I like another reviewer's idea of adding amber stones to the cups because the LED light color is a cold blue/white. I will do the same. I also wish there was only one plug, not two. I plan to stand it on a stone block to raise it up a bit. it could use being around 6-8 inches higher. On the con side...The water falling from the cups originally sounded kind of like a men's room to me so I added a bunch of river stones and that helped a lot to make it sound more like a natural stream and less like a bunch of urinals. ;-) The sound is nice now, but there is some splashing. I have it on an upstairs balcony which I don't want to stay wet so I'm experimenting with ways to get the splash down and may have to put the whole thing into a bigger basin to catch the splash. There is not a lot of splash, but a constant number of small droplets does create perpetual damp spot on the balcony. The pump is adjustable, but mine doesn't seem to noticeably respond to turning it down - I may have to get another pump. One thing to note. It is not really reversable as someone else stated. This is because on one side of the base there is a cut-out arc for the cords to go through (so the base doesn't wobble when it's standing). If it was turned around, then the cords would come toward you instead of away from you. I didn't realize this and wanted the high point on the other side, so I'll have to find a solution for this, too. It wouldn't matter if you don't see the base from where you install it. All in all I am reasonably happy with this fountain. Will be happier when I raise it, reduce the splash and put it on a timer.
This fountain is a nice addition to our patio. The fountain is reasonably light without feeling flimsy. It takes little space- we have it against a wall. The appearance and water sound are both attractive. We added amber glass pebbles to the bowls to soften the LED lighting and river rocks to the base. Even with the pebbles and rocks, there is a small splash so it needs to be on a surface where a little dampness is not an issue
In looking for a fountain, i read reviews of several products and nearly all the reviews of this one. Thanks to those who reviewed before. Your comments were every helpful in selection, and setup. What I found particularly useful: 1) i was looking for a bigger fountain. Dimensions are important. All the images look big online. You have to look at actual stats. I liked the height of this without excessive girth since I placed it on a balcony. 2) I wanted a fountain with water noise, which this fountain makes as one review described. Since the LED lights are bright and make the water bowls barren looking, i also added as suggested the plastic colored glass. However when the bowls get filled with the beads/rocks the water noise from bubbles and splash is lowered. 3) One reviewer described issues around the wiring of the pump and lighting being separate and requiring two plugs, which it does (one two prong, one triple prong). However i was able to put all the wiring into the water reservoir in the BASE and channel the wires up and through the OVERFLOW hole and back down under the base of the fountain. I have no exposed wires spilling over the top so it looks very clean. I alos put river rock in the bottom of the tray which makes it look much more finished. The bottom tray doesnt' 'puddle' since it all flows back to the reservoir underneath (unfortunately). It would be nice to have had standing water at the bottom but then you'd see the pump etc. 4) the only issue was one of my 'towers' leans towards the center (looks like an issue from molding) and isnt as up right as the picture. i thought about returning since the water was flowing at weird angles but in the end a propped a small pebble under the base and have corrected the 'lean''
Fountain was easy to assemble and sounds nice in our front courtyard. Becuase our courtyard does not get alot of sun the lights will not work as they are described ( sunlight activated) but still a nice fountain
It comes in one piece so the only assembly is connecting the pump and lights. Very easy. My only issue is the splashing. I"ve tried adding sea glass to the bowls and base but I can't seem to stop it completely. I think I'll put a low plant in front of it to catch the water so no one slips. The splashing would not deter me from buying this. It looks great on my porch.
This is a basic plastic fountain with a cheap pump and some LED lights. Looks decent outdoors from a distance, particularly at night. It tends to splash a bit. Worth $200, not $400. Nice alternative to a heavy stone or concrete fountain.
We are enjoying the fountain. We wish that it only had one plug instead of the two electrical plugs. Otherwise it is a nice slender fountain that is the best height size of the options at this price. As other reviews mentioned I agree that adjusting the cups for sound and filling with stones at the base will make it appear to be a higher fountain.
