  • Great bunk beds!

This is a great choice for a bunk bed. We have shopped around for a long time looking at beds and these rival ones that cost over $1K! Great buy! We are very happy.

  • Are these beds convertible? Can they separate into twin beds? Thanks

    Guidelines
    • Hello jewelcj, the Furniture of America Firestone Twin-size Bunk Bed can be broken down into separate twin beds. Please feel free to contact us again with any further questions. Thank you for shopping with us!

  • my question and concern dated feb 5, 2013 was not answered in the response.

    Guidelines
    • Sorry for the confusion in the bunk bed but it would require a boxspring or a bunker board.

  • this bunk bed came with only 4 slats to hold both top and bottom mattress. Once assembled and mattress in place, it appears the wood slats are bending which makes me uncomfortable. Also makes for a potentially very dangerous situation. It should have at least 3-4 more slats, much closer together, (currently 4 slats 12 inches apart), for safety & stability. If the mattress continues to sag with the current 4 slats, which are 12 inches apart, this could lead to damage of my (expensive) mattress amongst other things. Thank you.

    • Bunk beds are a classic piece of kids' furniture. They make the most of a small bedroom, provide privacy for two kids sharing a room, act as an incentive for hosting slumber parties, and can serve as a fixture of childhood memories and adding a box spring add more safety to the bed.

  • I just had this bunk bed delivered and assembled. There are only 4 wood slates holding the top and bottom mattress. It appears the 4 wood slates are not strong enough to hold the mattress which appears to be bending the wood slates making me very uncomfortable. This could create a very dangerous situation. There should be at least 3 more slates, closer together. There appears to be slots for them. please advise. Thank you.

  • Hello- I just received this bed from Overstock.com and the directions clearly state that a bunkie board is required. Overstock.com answered this question stating that one is now needed. Please describe the contradictory answers. Also, there is only 13 inches from the bottom of the frame to the top of the protective railing. If a bunkie board is required plus a mattress, this leaves little room for the guard rail to do its job. Please reply asap. Thank you.

    Guidelines
    • Typo in the above paragraph. Overstock.com stated below that a bunkie board is NOT needed (not now)-

    • We have just confirmed with the manufacturer the bunkie board is not required and uses slats. To alleviate any confusion we will have customer service contact regarding the issue so that this can be solved immediately.

    • Any mattress will work on the bottom mattress. The top guard rail is only 13 inches high, so that should be taken into consideration when choosing a top mattress.

  • Am looking at the firestone twin bunk bed 13873361 and have a question. Photo shows darker color to be oak and lighter to be cherry... unusual. Is this correct or mis-labeled. I prefer the lighter wood but hate oak. Pls confirm pix are correct or not.
