First off, you need to run about 20-30 cycles before you can reduce the chemical and plastic aftertaste from the ice made by this machine. Problem is this can only making 10 lbs of ice in 36 hours . So you;ll likely need 3 months to get rid of the chemical taste if you run it 24 hours a day. It may be cheaper than a regular ice maker, but you pay for it in frustration. It took me almost 2 days to get it connected and I'm above average handy. Imagine what it would take anyone else.

I purchased this ice machine in July 2014 and it stopped making ice. I purchased the two year warranty so I called the company to find out what they would do. I was asked some technical questions, then sent an email which required me to take the machine apart and check for various things that may be broken. I'm not a mechanic, nor do I have alot of extra time to be messing with this but I did it. Nothing was wrong that I could see. When I called back I was told I could ship it back to them at my expense, probably $50, and they would fix it and return it in about 2-3 weeks. Having only used it for a few months I think it should have been replaced and broken one returned at their expense. I have purchased countertop ice makers in the past and they last upwards of 3 years. Dont buy this brand.

  • Reviews seemed great but I didn't get that quality

I don't know if I just got a bad one but it came dented and ice still tastes of plastic after 4 cycles. I love this company though because they took great care of the issue. No hassle and excellent customer service. Just bummed that it didn't work out. Did research for days to make sure I got the right one and was very disappointed that it didn't work out.

Large and takes up a lot of counter space. I have a sub zero fridge that is the size of a drawer and no freezer in my kitchen (and is set up to look like a large drawer from previous owner living alone) and my house is split level so I have a full size fridge downstairs. We were constantly running up and down to get ice especially if we had company. I bought it to help correct that. It is fine but loud. I think it is over priced.

This icemaker broke within 6 months of usage. Save your money--buy bagged ice, instead!
