OK product for the price
About the level of quality one could expect for the price.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Much more gold/brass than I expected. Looks black in picture. There is also red and green on the screen. I plan to try covering some of the gold color w/ black paint.
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. OK, somewhat flimsy. But I don't expect to move or 'use' it much, so it will be fine just staying in one place.
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? The size and style are exactly what I was looking for. Would have liked something less flimsy.

Great decorative piece
I live in a very old colonial home with several fireplaces. In the 19th century stovepipes were installed and the fireplace was filled in with bricks, which left a lovely mantel but a blank plastered space. My solution was to buy this piece as a decorative firescreen to place in front of the plastered space. The piece is larger than I thought with substantial feet which I don't think was mentioned in the description. Which makes the piece very stable. But on the other hand, it is lightweight for its size and I can easily move it. I love this piece, it adds a whole dimension to my room!

Terrible Quality
We have been shopping at Overstock, frequently, for years and this was the very first return we have ever had to make. This fireplace screen came to us with a frame and two legs that were supposed to attach with screws. One leg was not attachable, since the predrilled holes for the screws were so misaligned. It came with only three screws, rather than the four needed. And the painted-on colors on the screen were gaudy and hideous, much more pronounced than in the photo (which shows a tasteful, muted green on a bronze background). Really, it's a terrible product and I wish we had heeded the previous negative review on this site. Buyer beware!

Fits Perfectly
Like the title says... It fits perfectly!! It goes with the decor and furnishings of my living room. The color on it is beautiful. It doesn't have an actual screen on it, so it's definitely more of a decorative piece, but I'm still happy with this purchase. All my family and friends ask where I bought it and I tell them from "Overstock.com."

The screen is what I expected. It has some coloring to the metal but it blends nicely without being obvious. It is a good weight and is used in front of gas logs. I have not had the logs on yet this year but I would expect the metal screen would get very hot... not making it desirable around young children. But it is very pleasing to look at and adds to the room's appeal.

Design Fine/Paint Garish
If you are willing to touch this up, it is fine. Otherwise I doubt that you will like the appearance.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Poor, extensions were red and green. Center is nice. So burnished gold over the red and gold lightly and it looks much better.

Lovely Metal Accent Screen
Readi reviews on this and other sites about this firescreen - especially about the collors. Still, for the price, and because our fireplace is a gas one and doesn't really need an actual "screen," I decided to give it a try. I'm a wrought iron freak, but prices for those types of screens are outrageous, so I was actually delighted when I received this metal screen today. The colors are not gaudy, but instead, go really nice against the background of our stone fireplace. Had just wanted more of an accent piece to brighten the stone and this does the trick. Size is perfect and I am very, very pleased!,

Not stellar, but a decent value.
This is not an expensive product, so I did not expect top-rate quality. However, I was still disappointed when I opened the box and saw the paint colors; they are not very subtle and the attempted "aging" of the piece makes it look more like a 4th grade art project. Also, one of the caps for the foot is missing and the threads on one of the wing nuts is stripped. Nonetheless, the screen fits the intended space nicely & I like the open scrollwork design; I'll improve upon it with a can of spray paint next weekend. All in, it's not a bad product for the $.

Fireplace screen
This isn't bad - but could probably do without. Don't have an option to say Idon't know if I would recommend.... Doesn't fit exact - but it was probably orderer error. It is colorful - greens and copper colors - very pretty.

Just perfect
Just the perfect touch for the fireplace in my bedroom. It is too much trouble using real wood, so I purchased an electric log and got this screen and it changes the whole room! It gives it a certain ambiance! I would highly recommend this screen.
