The rug is pretty much as pictured, except that the brown is a bit lighter and warmer than pictured (on my monitor at least). It is a great value for this size rug. The rug is thin, as are most silk or silk-like rugs, so we put a nice thick pad under it for noise absorption mainly. The thing I like most about it is that it has a silky sheen from certain angles. I'd recommend seeing which way the sheen goes before laying it down, since the sheen is a nice feature and it lightens up the rug quite a bit. It goes really well in our master BR which has bluish-gray paint and dark brown hardwood floors. I don't think anyone is going to be fooled into thinking this is a true antique, as the pattern is sort of designed to suggest, but nonetheless it's a nice subtle, good quality rug. Good buy.
