I was looking for a "overdyed/antiqued" rug for a guest room at a clients home (I'm an Interior Designer/Decorator) - most of them out there are over this clients budget for this room. Not only did this rug fit the bill, but it looks amazing and is better in so many ways than some of the REALLY expensive ones out there.
We planned to build our living room around this rug in our new house. The room has a lot of natural light, and the rug looked terrible in these conditions. From 10-15 feet away and with sunlight hitting it, I could not see any of the details of the rug...only a light beige shine. I do think this rug would help brighten up a dark den. But be aware...if you're putting this in a room with natural light, this rug has a heavy sheen to it.
There is no blue at all in the rug. The quality is not great either. A lot of other reviews mentioned that this looks like a ********** ********* rug. For someone who worked for restoration hardware for 5 years, this looks nothing like a ************ ******** rug.
I was hesitant after reading some of the reviews about the sheen but the rug surpassed my expectations. The pattern is very subtle and works great with our beach color scheme. It is shedding a bit but not more than any other rug I have owned.
This is a gorgeous rug. I love how it feels under my feet. I also purchased padding from Overstock which makes the rug even more plush. As for the appearance of the rug, it is a bit shiny in some areas as others have mentioned, which is not what you want from an expensive rug purchase. Also, as it sheds a bit, I do have to vacuum it often. Nonetheless, I am happy with the rug; and if one can get the rug on sale, it is worth it.
We bought this rug because my husband and I couldn't agree on getting a Persian vs. a neutral rug. We love the restoration hardware look and thought this rug resembled their style. I can't speak to durability because we just got it but its definitely a beautiful rug for the price. It's not too thick but not extremely thin so you could get away without a rug pad. We still bought a rug pad to minimize slipping and add some extra padding. The color of the rug is dominated by beige but at certain angles you get hints of blue/dark beige print. The rug is very soft, almost velvety, and feels great on the feet. The one thing I will say is the rug was very sheeny from one angle but we switched sides so the sheen was where no one would be looking. Overall impressed by how nice the rug looked for the price.
I absolutely love this rug the color is perfect, it has a sheen that I hope will go away in time because without that it looks like a vintage rug. I just ordered to more of these in a different color for my kitchen! Like the previous review they are very similar to the look of very expensive vintage rugs that are sold ar Restoration Hardware.. at an affordable price. Thank you Overstock as always a very satisfied customer.
